Keep your dog away from the foxtails!

The seeding grasses pictured above abound on our trail and throughout the Bay Area at this time of year. We regularly cut them back on the Montclair Railroad Trail, but it's a losing battle. Bristles can also dig themselves into a dog's feet and coat.  Avoid these serious hazards (and a vet bill), Read: http://smartfamilypets.com/how-come-foxtail-grass-dangerous-to-dogs/  Of course, these sharp, bristly plants can cause injury to people, too.

The Trail will be cleared of landslide debris!

Over the next two weeks, City Tree Services will cut up the fallen trees. Then equipment from the Traffic Division will be used to move the debris from the trail in both of the landslide locations. As noted on the signs above, those portions of the trail will be closed until the work is completed.

Help us recruit volunteers!

We're seeking volunteers for the summer months, and would especially like to get young people involved. Please help by sending us your suggestions with contact information for local groups and organizations that could be a source of volunteers.
