One of the great joys of summer camp is the bubble we create for our campers. With the beautiful hills of Ojai surrounding our campus, we create a kehilah kedosha, a sacred community, without interruptions of technology or news headlines. However, that very bond we create as a community, separated from the world, makes the connection we feel to our brothers and sisters in Israel even more palpable and permanent. At a time like this, when fear is ever-present for Israelis and so many are mourning or recovering, we all send tefilot for refuah, chizuk v’shalom - for healing, strength and peace. To the countless Ramahnikim in Israel - shlichim, studentim, olim… - we are thinking of you.
I have attended a couple of Ramah alumni weddings over these last two Shabbatot and have heard of many Ramah alumni weddings recently. How wonderful to have smachot as a response to this madness and sorrow. May the 7th blessing of the sheva berachot ring true:
“May there always be heard in the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem voices of joy and gladness, of happiness…the voices of young people feasting and singing.”

Your Ramah swag is in the mail!
You still have the opportunity to go to Israel with Ramah this coming year.
Have you heard about TRY? Each year students from all the Ramah camps join together and spend a semester in Israel - 4 months of living in Jerusalem. You get school credit and optional college credit too, travel all over the country, have time to meet up with family and friends, meet with Israelis, participate in Gadna, Yam L'Yam, spend time on Kibbutz, and so much more.
There is still time to sign up! Check out our website for more info or call Judy Greene, in our NY office (212-678-8883). We can also set you up with a TRY alum in your area if you want to hear firsthand about their experience.
Don’t want to ride? You can sponsor a rider, make a general contribution, or volunteer at our Camp Ramah rest stop.
Ramah is one of nine camps within our Los Angeles community that is a beneficiary of the proceeds from this exciting event. This ride has a significant and direct impact on the amount of the financial aid we and our fellow camps can award each year.
