GALA Ribbon Cutting Ceremony After more than four years of hard work and planning, GALA celebrated our grand opening of the school with a ribbon cutting ceremony!
The event was attended by GALA families, students, staff, board members, funders, community partners, elected officials, and friends. GALA also received a special honor from the City of Cleveland with a Resolution of Recognition for our opening.

GALA Summer Institute GALA staff participated in two weeks of amazing professional development, including workshops on dual language immersion education, the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), literacy, safety, home visits, and culture.
We were also fortunate to have guests from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), Mansfield Public Schools, and Midview Local School District join us for four days of workshops on dual language immersion education presented by two leading national experts on language immersion - Dr. Tara Fortune of CARLA (Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition from the University of Minnesota and Dr. Shuhan Wang of CELIN (Chinese Early Language Immersion Network from the Asia Society in New York). Why are you excited about teaching at GALA?
I am excited to work at GALA because I will get to see the beautiful faces of our students, families and staff every day.
Tell us about yourself I have am finishing up my Associate's Degree next Spring and transferring to CSU in the Fall of 2017. I was born and raised in Cleveland. My general interests are couponing and spending time with my two kids.
What do you like to do when you are not working? When I am not working I like to stay home or go to the movies.

GALA Breakfast and Lunch Program! GALA is excited to introduce our breakfast and lunch provider, Chef Stacey Stoudemire of Simply Elegance Catering. Stacey has over 17 years of experience and an endless passion for healthy delicious food.
We feel very fortunate to have Stacey and her son Willie serving nutritious fresh cooked meals every day to our students at GALA! Not only is Stacey an amazing cook, she is also passionate about reducing waste! Chef Stacey participates in GALA's recycling program, meals at GALA are served on reusable plastic trays, and plans are underway to begin composting!
