Photogrammetry | Workshop

Photogrammetry is the science of turning 2D photographs into 3D models. It's a powerful technique that allows for accurate 3D scanning on a relatively slim budget, using nothing but a camera and controlled lighting. In this workshop, we will walk you through the process and show some results. Register here.

Christine Sun Kim | In Performance

Artist and educator Christine Sun Kim uses the media of drawing and sound in performance to investigate her relationship with spoken language and the aural environment. Kim discusses her quirky, playful and rule-bending work, which she has exhibited and performed at White Space Beijing, London’s Carroll/Fletcher gallery, Shanghai Biennale, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and MoMa PS1 in New York.
Ayana Evans | A Black Woman's Art Show and... A White Man's Exhibition

The exhibitions will be staged in two sessions, March 8-10 showing “A Black Woman’s Show” and then March 13-17 “A White Man’s Exhibition” will be on view. Performances will be Fri. Mar 8 at 7:30pm and on Sun. Mar 17 at 4 pm.

Installation and performance artist Tania Bruguera works with people to expose, critique and change the institutional structures and political dynamics that impact the lives of the most vulnerable individuals in societies across the globe. “All of my work is a social experiment,” she told viewers of her latest project at the Tate Modern in London, “and my biggest inspiration is injustice.” She is serving as a BAI professor of the practice in spring 2019. Cecilia Vicuña | Artist Talk

Cecilia Vicuña is a Chilean poet, artist, filmmaker, and activist. Her work addresses ecological destruction, human rights, and cultural homogenization. Her work was included in Documenta 14, and is collected at MoMA and Guggenheim Museum. Please register here.

Community is at the heart of music by singer-songwriter and guitarist Dar Williams. She “sings about things that are part of the human condition,” writes Melissa Cynova in theartsstl.com, telling stories with candor and humor as though she is having “a musical conversation with…her friends.” Williams brings her signature sound to Brown as part of the BAI's Songwriting Series. The 2019 CityWorks Fellows are seeking project proposals for Imagine Us Here: Cultivating Public Space for Community Resilience. They welcome proposals for projects that explore community resilience in the face of climate change, with the goal of creating an enriched place near the edge of the Providence River that brings people together in the face of climate change.
