Guadalupe Maravilla is a transdisciplinary visual artist, choreographer, and healer. At the age of eight, Maravilla was part of the first wave of unaccompanied, undocumented children to arrive at the United States border in the 1980s as a result of the Salvadoran Civil War. In 2016, Maravilla became a U.S. citizen and adopted the name Guadalupe Maravilla in solidarity with his undocumented father, who uses Maravilla as his last name. As an acknowledgement of his own migratory past, Maravilla grounds his practice in the historical and contemporary contexts of immigrant culture, particularly those belonging to Latinx communities. WoW | Artist Resource List
With or Without is the collaborative effort of two artists to create a comprehensive digital artists’ community. This virtual space aims to allow artists, creatives, and thinkers to gather, generate, share, critique, and support one another in all forms. We hope to open an avenue to uplift the work and careers of fellow artists of all paths and places. Leaning into our current digital age, With or Without offers a series of virtual lectures, critiques, and workshops, through which artists can pitch, barter, and solicit feedback from other makers of all walks of life.

Call for Work | College Hill Independent

The X section of the College Hill Independent, Brown/RISD's alt-weekly, is looking to source work from students across Brown and RISD this semester. With a single page each week, X publishes a wide range of image- and hybrid text-based work. Mediums can be photography, documentation of sculpture or painting, and basically whatever can get printed on our page! Accepting and encouraging all forms of work -- please don’t hesitate to send any work their way or email with a preliminary idea. While not all pieces must fit within this loose theme, this semester we are interested in the ideas of nostalgia and memory. Email here.

The LIST list is a weekly publication about the Department of Visual Art news, events, and opportunities in the List Art Building, around Brown's campus and in the larger Rhode Island community. If you have an announcement you would like to see on the List List, please submit here.

Forward the LIST list to others who might be interested or
