Presented in conjunction with Luscious: Paintings and Drawings by Wendy Edwards. Ayana Evans’ performances address issues of body image and social judgement, often including feats of endurance performed in high heels and eye catching outfits that represent the perseverance required by women in our society.

This event is intended for currently enrolled Brown University students. Please register here. VA Funding Opportunities

Flexible Flyer Fellowship Award
Deadline: Mon. Feb 10, 5pm
Individual awards are available for a junior or senior Visual Art Concentrator. Eligible projects may be done as completely independent projects outside of Brown, as independent study projects, or as work within the regular department curriculum. A student may not use the award while on leave from Brown, but it may be used in part for a summer project undertaken between junior and senior years, or for the completion of a project begun at Brown and finished during the summer following graduation.

Hugh Townley Travel Fellowship Award
Deadline: Mon. Feb 10, 5pm
Funds are available to a junior Visual Art Concentrator. Proposal for travel should support your development as an artist.

The Minority Peer Counselor Coordinator position will require exceptional TIME, ENERGY and PATIENCE. MPC Coordinators can rely on a variety of resources for guidance and support in all their endeavors. This includes the BCSC, Residential Life, the Sarah Doyle Women’s Center, LGBTQ Center, FLi Center, the Deans of the College, Campus Life staff, University Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, and the Office of the Chaplain and Religious Life. Apply to be a TWTP Coordinator

The Third World Transition Program Coordinator position is a challenging and rewarding leadership opportunity at the Brown Center for Students of Color. Each year two individuals are selected through a rigorous application process to become TWTPCs. The TWTPCs play an important role in promoting the philosophy, legacy and history behind student of color activism upon which the Brown Center for Students of Color was founded. This process requires hard work, a commitment to promoting solidarity among people of color, and very strong organizational and management skills. More info and apply

Undergraduate Essay Prize in Judaic Studies
The Program in Judaic Studies announces the $500 Undergraduate Essay Prize. The award will go to the best academic essay written by a current Brown University undergraduate (regardless of concentration) on any topic relating to Jews and Judaism.  Papers that use interdisciplinary approaches are especially encouraged. Submissions can include (but are not limited to) a paper used in a course (revised or not), original research, or a thesis chapter that can stand on its own.  Submissions should be a maximum of 7000 words, including all notes and bibliography. Only one submission per Brown University current undergraduate student is allowed.  Submit PDF documents to including your name on each numbered page.
