Art Supply Donations Needed
Please donate your surplus and unused art supplies in the designated bins in the List Art studios, or drop them off in the main office (room 222). These supplies will be used to support the department's VA Community Resource Cabinet to aid students in need.

Studio Monitor Applications Due
Mon. Apr 29, 4pm

The Department of Visual Art is looking for applications from qualified students to work in the labs/studios for the Fall 2019 semester. Areas include Book Arts, Darkroom, Digital Print Lab, Foundation Studio, Painting, and Printmaking. Please apply here.

DIAP Student Committee Members Application Due
Fri. May 3, 5pm

Our department will continue it's work on the Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) in the 2019-2020 academic year. We are looking for students who are interested in working with Visual Art Faculty and Staff on our DIAP initiatives. This appointment is one-year commitment, and the committee meets at various times throughout the semester. Please self-nominate

Studio Monitors Hours/Open Lab Hours will end on Monday, May 6th. All coursework requiring the use of VA studios must be complete by this time. 

Equipment Checkout Closes
Fri. May 10

All equipment on loan through the Department of Visual Art must be returned by Friday, May 10 at 3pm. 


BAI Arts Workshop | Fall 2019
Deadline: Tues. Apr 30

During Fall 2019, the Brown Arts Initiative, in collaboration with University arts departments, is offering an interdisciplinary Arts Workshop for faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduate students. The workshop, which students may take for credit if desired, provides space and support to develop arts-based projects intended for a broad public audience. Space is limited to 12 participants: 4 faculty members, 4 graduate students and 4 undergraduate students. Participants will be admitted to the workshop by application only. Internship | Dave Cole Studios
Dave Cole Studios is looking for interns to work alongside Dave during the Summer 2019 at Cole's studio in Hudson, NY. Work will include but is not limited to assisting in the fabrication of his large-scale projects and studio organization. More info here.
