Study Abroad in Comillas, Spain | Summer 2019
Application Deadline: Wed. Mar 20

Spend a month this summer in Northern Spain creating an art portfolio while learning about Spanish language and culture. Leslie Bostrom and Leigh Tarentino teach and direct this month-long program, which includes coursework in drawing and painting, weekly non-credit language courses, and local excursions. Nominate the New 2019-2020 Visual Art DUG Leaders
The Department of Visual Art is looking to our student body to nominate two VA Concentrators to join Caitlin Takeda '20 as DUGs for the 2019-2020 academic year. VA DUGs are chosen each year to help students connect with one another, with faculty, and with alumni. VA DUGs participate in concentration fairs, give guided tours of our facilities to prospective students, organize the open studio events and assist with an annual juried student art exhibition. Look for an email from the department with a link to the nomination form.

Writing Fellows Info Session

Do you want to support Brown students and their writing? Come to our BCSC info session to learn about the Writing Fellows and how to become one! Pizza will be served. The Writing Fellows Program trains undergraduate students to support student writers through collaborative, inclusive, and accessible peer exchanges. Writing Fellows work in classes in conjunction with professors to give peer feedback on student writing. Fellows receive professional development, grow a network of caring and hilarious people, and earn an $800/semester stipend. Check out our Facebook page @brownuwritingfellows for more info. RISD Museum Guild | Open Call for March Third Thursday

The RISD Museum Guild is hosting an open call for individuals to showcase their visual (2D or 3D) and performance work during the upcoming Third Thursday at the RISD Museum (March 21 from 5 - 9 pm). Students have the opportunity to activate gallery spaces and re-frame the Museum's collection through performance, or share their creative process with Museum visitors in a casual, conversational setting.

Art + Feminism | Wikipedia Editathon

RISD Museum
Join us at the RISD Museum as part of Third Thursday for a communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to gender, art, and feminism. We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, reference materials, free food, and cash bar. Please bring your laptop (a handful will be provided), power cord, and ideas for entries that need updating or creation—or choose from a list of suggested entries relating to the Museum’s collection and Rhode Island’s history.

Submit to the Undergraduate Prize for Excellence in Library Research
Deadline: Thurs. Mar 29
Submissions may be in many forms, including papers, databases, and websites, and must engage in any Library resources, such as print resources, databases, primary resources, and materials in all media.  Submissions may include any work completed during 2018 for a semester-long course that is not a senior thesis, and they may be in any subject field. Up to two prizes of $750 will be awarded  To Submit: fill out the form here.
