Summer Reading is almost here! Memorial Day has passed, and school's nearly out so we're getting started with Summer Reading!

A Storied History
 

Do you love the Detroit Tigers? Come Tuesday, June 6 at 7pm to hear some of the stories and legends surrounding the great Tigers of the past from Dr. Bill Anderson, baseball historian.

Building Challenges


Starting Thursday, June 29, we'll be hosting a building challenge at 2pm for ages 5-12. Building challenges will differ each week - what can you build?

On Thursday, June 22 at 6pm, join Liz Kirkwood of FLOW (For the Love of Water) for a screening of Great Lakes, Bad Lines, a documentary.  A Q & A will follow.
Build a Better World Poster
This summer, kids and adults can build better worlds with us through reading!  Stop by the library starting on June 12 to sign up, and the Summer Reading Club runs through August 5.  

Kids will also get a chance to challenge their construction and engineering abilities through our Building Challenges, see a storyteller and a magician, and participate in our Truck Petting Zoo and a visit from John Ball Zoo.   • Friday, June 16 from 9:30am-5pm
  • Saturday, June 17 from 9:30am-1pm
Stop by to pick up used books, DVDs, children's books, and more.  All proceeds will go to fund SLDL programs like the Summer Reading Club.
