The Malgrats Islands are formed by two islands between Cap de Sa Foradada de ses Aguiles and Cap Negre. The largest is known as Malgrat and is just over 2 km long. The smallest is a half km long and is called the islet de Ses Rates, des Conills or d'Enmig. The island of Malgrat has cliffs up to 60 meters and a horizontal platform on top. The islet des Conills or ses Rates does not exceed 28 metros. Take a trip of two hours to the Malgrats Islands, an idyllic setting where you will discover natural pools and have the opportunity to explore the protected seabed when you snorkel.

During the trip to the Malgrats Islands, a nature reserve of great ecologicalvalue due to its diversity of species, you can skirt the coast to see the Mediterranean landscape from a different perspective. We suggest that you match the itinerary with the rising or setting sun, the beauty of its hues is always amazing from the sea.

The best way to discover is through snorkeling.

Did you know...?

In 2007, the collapse of the Balearic frigate, a ship of more than 133 meters long - resting today at 400 meters from the Malgrats - was approved. This boat is a paradise for diving enthusiasts as it recreates an artificial reef that enhances the increase of marine life in the area. In this way, the boat protects, shelters and feeds the different species of fish, like the prairies of oceanic Posidonia. This artificial reef will improve and extend adjacent reserves as the reserve of El Toro, and reduce the pressure on natural reefs nearby.

The nature reserve of Malgrats is definitely a unique place where visitors and residents can enjoy nature in the wild, with responsible fishing and sports activities like diving, kayaking and sailing. For the visitor who can not access by sea, there is always the old lookout tower, which still houses an old iron cannon.
