Michael Kassnar, Founder and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for IWI US, put the phone down. Lost in thought, he knew the news he had just received was great, but more than that, it was an honor. There was much to do to prepare for a visit from Allan Cors, President of the NRA Foundation and an NRA Executive Committee member, on the NRA Ring of Freedom tour this August. Michael looked up at the framed poster of an American Rifleman cover from June 2013 featuring a TAVOR® SAR and the title “Decidedly Different IWI TAVOR®.” After a long career in the firearms industry, he was finally enjoying the fruits of his hard work and dedication.
The X95™ might look like merely a smaller version of the original TAVOR®, but there’s more to this bullpup than meets the eye. In addition to making the platform more compact, IWI listened to soldier input and further modified the gun. Immediately noticeable is the location of the X95™ charging handle. By putting this rather important part closer to the shooter, operating the rifle is made simpler in close quarters and stoppages can be cleared much faster and more comfortably.
Summer is almost over so it was fitting when Kraig R. of Florida submitted this photo of his Jericho® 941F in 9mm catching some rays by the pool for last month's hat contest. But not only is this a great looking and operating pistol, it was also one of the first imported into the U.S.!
Send us a photo of your IWI US firearm and we'll pick one person to win a hat and be featured in next month's issue! All photos should be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject "Close Quarters Contest" no later than September 19, 2016 to be eligible to win.
