TAVOR®: THE WEAPON OF THE FUTURE IS HERE

The 1982 Israeli Lebanon war opened the eyes of the Israeli military. It became clear that a replacement for the M16/M4 platform was needed and that the nature of modern warfare had changed. The enemy was no longer engaged only from a distance and war was often up close and personal, being fought from house-to-house and room-to-room. The new rifle would need to be as accurate as a sniper rifle, have the firepower of an M16, the reliability of an AK-47 and be short and maneuverable enough to operate inside of vehicles and in close quarters. Enter the Tavor®.

READY, AIM, SCHMEAR!

In case you missed it, we recently had the opportunity to sponsor an event with Bullets & Bagels, a noshing, networking and shooting club, at the Raahauges Range in Corona, California last month.

The event was attended by many, including Joe Mantegna, best known for playing Special Agent David Rossi in the acclaimed TV show “Criminal Minds” and Midway USA’s “Gun Stories with Joe Mantegna” on the Outdoor Channel. Attendees were able to shoot Israel's most iconic firearms, including the Tavor®, Galil ACE® and Jericho®, and receive basic shooting instruction and assistance from an NRA-certified instructor. Two Tavor®'s were also auctioned off.

A great time was had by all and more than $6,000 was raised for Friends of the IDF, an organization dedicated to supporting the men and women soldiers of the Israeli Defense Forces who defend the state of Israel and to the families of fallen IDF soldiers.

You can view a handful of photos from the event below as well as on our Facebook Page.
