Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all our RawHyde Alumni and friends !

Folks, RawHyde is hiring, expanding and creating some new programs for next year. That said - I hope you'll  take a moment to peruse our final newsletter as we prepare to close the books for both the month and the year.  At this point I can't help but look back and reflect on what a truly remarkable year its been for RawHyde.
We are privileged to have met hundreds of new friends within our community and 2016 was a year of growth for us and for that we are very grateful. So as the Holidays draw near I’d like to wish everyone in our riding community a very Merry Christmas and our best wishes for a prosperous New Year.
2017 is going to be a BIG year for RawHyde and as the title of this newsletter mentions – We are growing and making some big changes so please take a gander at what we have planned for the year!

New Facility & Major Construction !
RawHyde Adventures is growing in scale this year. Some of you may recall that we purchased a large property in the Mojave desert last year and now its time to start construction. Our plan is to create the only “purpose built” moto- training center in the Adventure Motorcycle world. As we enter our 15th year of operation and our 9th year as a BMW certified training facility it would be fair to say that we’ve learned a LOT about how to effectively train riders. So – we’re going to take all that we’ve learned and build a brand new training center that will enable us to do an even better job of helping provide new adventure riders with the skills they need to navigate our world !

We’ll need contractors and builders from every trade and we want to “keep the money in the community”. As we enter this construction phase we’re looking to give back to you (our loyal clients and friends) by hiring from within. We have a need for tradesmen of all types and want to hear from you. You invested in our classes and gained a better riding experience in the process, we’re looking to return the favor and put our trust in you. Maybe you own a concrete company, or have a brother in roofing… anyone know someone working in solar? We want to hear from you on this one, so please send us a note letting us know what your skill or trade is along with your contact info and we’ll be in touch.
Employment opportunities at RawHyde –
As we grow externally with new properties we also need to grow internally and we have two job opportunities that we’d love to fill from “within the community”
  1. Operations & Facility Manager: This person will be responsible for our “Fleet” of motorcycles (50 at this time) as well as overseeing the construction of our new Training Center, Maintenance at our other three facilities and a host of other logistical things. All jobs at RawHyde are very “hands on” so a wide working knowledge of the “trades” is important in this role. Its not a “desk job”  but it has some interesting perks ! If you’re interested in this role please send a resume to Audrey at this email address:  Audrey@rawhyde-offroad.com

  2. Event Manager and Dealer Relations. A large part of RawHyde’s business comes through Powersports “Dealers” and we're looking for a person to specialize in developing deeper relationships with dealers. If you think about it a motorcycle “dealer” is first point of contact for anyone interested in getting involved in our sport. We want to develop special programs for dealers and I need an outgoing and energetic person to take on this role. We also host events all across the country and this is a dual role job as this candidate will take on the task of planning and executing all our “events”. If you’re interested in this role please send a resume and a brief explanation of why you think you’d be good at the job to jim@rawhyde-offroad.com
Upcoming fun - The Mid-Winter Adventure - January 23rd to 28th.
As the year comes to a close I’ve been watching the news about a particularly harsh “Cold Front” that’s swept from Canada to the Carolina’s and I can’t help but think that a few days in the California desert sun riding a brand new 2017 GS could be interesting for some of you. Our “Mid Winter Adventure” was created just for those of you who live in the colder sections of the U.S. and Canada. Imagine 5 days in the Mojave Desert and Death Valley basking in blue skies and sunshine. This is a 5 As day ride that begins at our facility in LA and heads out to Death Valley for a leisurely exploration of America’s second largest National Park. Somewhere in the Mojave Desert during the Mid-Winter Adventure. Blue skies and beautiful weather!
Adventure Days 2017 -
And then coming this April 13th to the 16th, we’d like to invite you to join us at our newest California location for Adventure Days 2017… and perhaps a little thawing out!

Adventure Days is part “Educational Expo” and part rally. With riding clinics and many informational classes, local day rides and a ton of vendor booths to see, you’ll spend 4 days making decisions on which cool thing you want to do next. If you’re serious, or even a little curious about adventure riding, you’ve got to check out this one! There will be lots of evening entertainment, music, travel stories and more. We'll also have many of the companies that support our sport showcasing their latest products. Many of the clinics will be taught by representatives of these companies as well; who knows better how to install a luggage rack than the manufacturer? Nobody… is the answer to that question!

And if you’re really lucky, there will be a sneak preview of the upcoming Expedition 65 Film. Shot entirely on location everywhere between Cartagena and Ushuaia, the forthcoming Expedition 65 documentary is slated for a summer release, but we want your feedback! Plus, we’ll have the same great food you found at our training camp from sundown Thursday to sunup Sunday. Lets ride!  Rental bikes will be available.

Inside the industry. One of the things that enhances our “sport” is the passionate people that have created new businesses to make Adventure Riding more interesting, fun and safer as well. This month we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy LeBreton; the owner of Seattle based AltRider.
Jeremy started his aftermarket adventure-bike parts business from the living room of his Pac-Northwest home. At RawHyde we’ve had a lot of experience with AltRider products since all of our 800 GS's are equipped with AltRider crashbars. So - if you have a need for stylish, and functional, crash protection for any of your dirty bikes AltRider is a great option, check out the website and “venture on!”

New member of the RawHyde Team - So when you meet a guy named “Fonzie,” aka Alfonse Palaima (that’s me pictured below), you’ll know that you've just been invited to ride with me this year. As RawHyde's embedded journalist I've been in the Moto industry for a long time. I've written for Motorcyclist, Roadrunner, Cycle world and more. I'm usually the guy carrying the biggest camera in the group but don’t let that stop you from asking questions. You might see me at one of our upcoming rallies or find my work in a forthcoming Expedition 65 coffee table book. I look forward to meeting you at RawHyde or somewhere on the trail. I'll be writing a lot for RawHyde this year so stay tuned for upcoming articles.
