Blessed Self,

Hari OM and Namaste!

THOUGHTS:

Meditation Tips - Be Relaxed and Prayerful - By Swami Chinmayananda!

The meditator is then advised to relax the body. Sitting in a comfortable seat, fingers interlocked, hands resting in the lap, see that the body is very still and erect.

In this position of relaxation, you hang the physical body, as it were, upon a cross represented by the erect vertebral column and the collarbones. Just as one hangs one's coat on a coat hanger. The gross weight and tensions of the body no longer pull your attention to the physical plane. You have entered the meditation seat, with all the preliminaries of body adjustment completed.

Fill the mind with joy. Smile from the mind and the heart, not from the lips only. See that the mind is surcharged with joy. It is not that we have no worries; we just do not carry these worries to the meditation seat. e are here to relax.

We fill our minds with the joy of meeting our Beloved. Worries will be there for everyone. Refuse to recognize them, just as we reject them before sleeping. In this joyous attitude the mind is pliable. We can change its shape and contours. Even when we try to persuade other individuals to do something, we first try to make them happy before we put forth our request.

With this quiet, cheerful mind, mentally prostrate to the Teacher or Lord, surrendering the ego at His feet. 'O Lord! Lead me, guide me I do not know where to go; all that I know is that this is not the way I want to continue to live.'

This process helps to eliminate the ego for a moment. Relax. Let go.

Keep the worries along with the shoes - outside the meditation room.
