1. DRC Annual Meeting Krems 9.-11. November 2016

The Annual Meeting with the title "Vision, Knowledge, Prosperity. The Universities’ Contribution to Implementing the EUSDR – Good Practice and Challenges" was
held at the Danube University Krems 9.-11. November 2016. Further information can be found on our website.

2. New DRC presidency elected by the General Assembly

During the General assembly held at the Danube University Krems on 11. November 2016, a new DRC presidency has been elected. The new DRC president Rector Friedrich Faulhammer and his Vice-presidents Prof. Dr. Doru Pamfil and Prof. Dr. Karol Micieta have been unanimously approved by all DRC members present.

We would like to express our gratitude to former DRC president and vice-president Prof. Dr. Jiri Balik for all his efforts during his term and wish the new presidency best of success!

3. Danubius Award Ceremony

The Danubius Award was created in 2011 by the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM) and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science, Research and Economy (BMWFW) with the intention to honor persons with extraordinary achievements in their scientific activity and output in relation to the Danube Region. 2016 this award has been, for the third time, complemented with a specific price for young scientists - the „Danubius Young Scientist Award“.

Prof. PhDr. Ingeborg Fialová, Dr. was awarded the 2016 Danubius Award.

4. International Conference ”Agriculture for Life – Life for Agriculture”
