We sent an email several weeks ago addressing FAQ’s for our bubbles and included bubble up dates. Since sending, we have added additional enhancements to the spaces in an effort to ease any worries you may have.

For our indoor courts, MERV filters have been added to the HVAC systems at both Clubs. As for the bubble courts, we will be adding iWave-C units at both Clubs in order to treat the air during the Pandemic.

IWave-C technology has been installed in over 100,000 applications. This technology is the world’s first self-cleaning, no maintenance needlepoint bi-polar ionization generator designed specifically for treating air in commercial duct A/C systems. As the air flows past the iWave-C, positive and negative ions actively purify the supply air, killing mold, bacteria and viruses in the coil and air space. The ionization process also reduces allergens, smoke and static electricity, as well as controlling odors and other particles in the air without creating ozone or any harmful byproducts.

We look forward to seeing you on the courts!

In an effort to keep our outdoor courts open longer, we have moved the raising of the bubble to October allowing for additional outdoor play during the fall.
Jefferson Valley will begin the bubble up process on Saturday, October 17th and be ready for indoor play on Monday, October 26th. Briarcliff will begin the bubble up process on Monday, October 26th and be ready for indoor play Monday, November 9th.

During this time the outdoor court booking fees will continue to be waived. The indoor tennis hard-courts will continue to be available for reservation for a fee.  As we convert to our bubbled tennis season, we want to make sure we provide you with information related to that environment as we have done for the inside of the facility.

Questions and Concerns:

Q:  Is indoor tennis a low risk sport?
A: Yes

Q:  What is the air quality/square footage in the bubbles?
A: The Briarcliff bubble is 45,000 square feet with a height of 32 feet hosting 7 tennis courts. The Jefferson Valley bubble is 29,400 square feet in total with a height of 32 feet hosting 4 tennis courts. From the tennis court floor to the height of 7 feet, the fresh outdoor air exchange is approximately every 12 minutes. The fresh outside air exchange for the entire bubble takes approximately 60 minutes.

Note: This why it is such a difficult environment to control. Temperature, humidity, and court conditions are all affected by the outside air being brought in.

Q: Why is there a thick/humid feel?
A: This is due to the moisture in the clay courts. In order to maintain the ideal surface conditions, it is necessary to keep up regular maintenance which includes watering the courts. This is also what creates the condensation on the bubbles inner lining. This condensation at times can drip from the bubbles surface and onto the courts. At Briarcliff we will be working to change the skylight seams during the bubble up process and throughout our opening process in an effort to reduce dripping on the playing area.
Q: Will sanitizer be available for use?
A: Viking Pure Sanitizer will be available on each court and hand sanitizer will be placed at the entry points to the bubble.

Court Amenities:
Benches, water coolers, and score markers will be provided SHOULD there be guidance that allows such usage.

Please bring your own sweat towels. We will not have our typical hand towels available. We have cleaning cloths with spray in our fitness center and shower towels for the locker room but request these are utilized for only these purposes and in these spaces.
Should you have additional questions regarding our 2020/2021 indoor season please reach out to the Tennis Directors. Michael Bratt at Jefferson Valley at or Rodrigo Schtscherbyna at Briarcliff at
