"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up." Ephesians 4:11-12

As always summer here flew by. Charlie continued his work as maintenance man over the summer months. Most of the new construction wrapping up just in time for the new school year. Of course little projects remain to be done. The middle school is now housed on the same campus as the high school. As for the family, many hours were spent outside at the pool and playgrounds. Alyson taught swim lessons for a few families over the summer. Sealey and Tempey finished another year of kindergarten. All leading up to the biggest event of the summer, the arrival of Felicity Ellelynn Adams on August 12 at 4:20 AM.

2017-2018 school year will be a special year for my (Alyson's) small group gals as they are seniors. Fall semester of senior year means carrying flags during opening ceremonies and a class trip to Italy in addition to Herbtsmesse and banquet! We have one new girl in our group this year bringing us to 6 girls and 2 leaders. Jessie and I hope to continue to foster relationships with each girl in our group and speak truth into their lives. Many of our girls have a great knowledge of God, but fail to have a heartfelt relationship with Him. This year I'll be posting on our Adams' Family Missionary Journey Facebook page on Tuesdays about our plans for small group that night, so you can join in praying for us as we minister to these girls.

We are very grateful that God has provided more maintenance staff this school year! 2 new full time members have joined the team along with 1 member returning from a year of home assignment. A major project this year is the upgrading to a new key system for the entire school. This will improve security and provide better access for staff and students. Charlie is the head person on this task force! And as mentioned before, he continues working on jobs to get the middle school settled into their new home.
A new grading policy and bell schedule have been rolled out this year along with a few changes to required classes. As you can imagine, students and teachers are still getting use to the new routine. The changes in the required classes has opened up the opportunity for Charlie to offer an advanced industrial arts class. Currently, Charlie's students are working on finishing their most recent projects, coasters with a holder. This involves teaching some energetic sophomore boys and one freshman boy  how to use hand tools! He is preparing them to start their 3rd project of the school year, candy dispensers.

We are adjusting to being a family of 6. It is so precious to see the bonds form between the children. Tempey is very excited about being a Schulanfänger in kindergarten this year. This means it is her last year in kindergarten and she is preparing to start school. In Germany, this is a very special transition year.  Sealey, Patience, and Felicity are enjoying time at home with mom! I enjoyed teaching last year, but am grateful to be back to full time mom and wife. I am also blessed with having a wonderful mentor!
