Hello SHPA  Families,

On behalf of the Seven Hills Preparatory Academy Board of Directors, we are issuing a call for nominations for the 2023 Board of Directors election. 

The board is looking for one teacher member and three members at large for election this year. You may nominate yourself or someone else for the board by emailing the Board at shpaschoolboard@shpamn.org by March 15th, 2023.

The election for new members will be held on May 4th, 2023. Please consider running for the school board.

What is the Board of Directors?
The Board of Directors is the governing body of the school. The board meets once a month to discuss important topics related to the school including the budget, student success, facilities, and creating and revising the rules and policies of the school. There are also committees of the board that meet throughout the year.

Who is on the board?
The board includes parents, teachers, and community members. The board consists of 11 members and with a minimum of 3 teacher members and 1 community member. The rest of the positions are members at large.

How long will I be on the school board?
Typically, board members serve a 3 year term.

Why should I run?
Being on the school board allows you to learn more about Seven Hills Preparatory and make decisions that help us to achieve our mission "to engage students in a rigorous Classical education, designed to prepare each one for strong citizenship and life-long learning."

When does the school board meet?
The school board meets once a month for a 2-hour meeting to discuss important items regarding the school. Board Committees meet once per month for a 1-hour meeting to complete work related to the specific committee charge. There are also mandatory and optional training opportunities throughout the year.
