Special Announcement

Dear SHPA Parents and Families,

Today is Friday, June 3rd, which means we only have 4 days of school left next week for our students. Remember that Thursday, June 9th, is our last day of school and students will be dismissed at 1:15pm. But don't worry, we have a variety of exciting events to commemorate the end of the school year.

Bike Swap: This year, we are hosting our first ever Bike Swap. Community members that donated a gently used bike will have the opportunity to preview and choose from our bike selection this Saturday, June 4th, 10:00am-11:00am, at our Richfield Campus. If you do not have a bike to donate but would like to attend the swap for a free bike, you can choose from this selection of bikes from 11:00am-12:00pm.

Our Eighth grade students, after a long but joyful week on various field trips, will be graduating on Wednesday, June 8th at 6:30pm in the Richfield Campus gymnasium.
Please note the time change from 6:00pm to 6:30pm.

Our Fifth grade students will be hosting a promotional ceremony on Thursday, June 9th, at 12:30pm.

This week, our Environment Club planted native plants and flowers outside of our main school entrance.  This is part of a larger project to encourage the population of the Rusty Patch Bumblebee. A shout out goes to the Environmental Club leaders Ms. Kranz and Ms. Hoffman and the Environmental Club students.

And last but not least, do not miss the event many of our students have been waiting for...Dunk the Principal. Because we surpassed our goal of raising $60,000 through the PTA sponsored Fun Run and Color Run, top fundraiser winners will attempt to Dunk the Principal (we will is not as easy as it appears).

And finally, thank you to and your family for your ongoing support of our Seven Hills teachers, staff, and community. The last few years have been challenging to say the least to ensure that our goals and objectives as a Classical public charter school support and grow your individual child, and this last year continued to demonstrate its challenges. As many of our staff expressed, we tried to return to a normal school year while nothing was normal. A shout out to our Richfield Campus teachers, educational assistants, health and office staff, food service, and administrators for their continued efforts to not only support you and your child, but one another.

Have a great weekend,

Carolyn Farrell
Richfield Campus Principal

Welcome Ms. Walker: As Ms. Farrell moves into the Interim Executive Director role and continues on as the Richfield Campus Principal, we have hired an Administrative Intern to support the administrative team. Please welcome Ms. Martine Walker, who currently teaches Kindergarten, to the new role of Administrative Intern. Ms. Walker has been a member of the Seven Hills community for 10 years and in addition to teaching Kindergarten, has taken on various leadership roles including instructional coaching, leading our equity and student council teams, and serving as a Seven Hills School Board member.

Executive Director Reception - Jun 9th - 3:00 pm: To celebrate the leadership and guidance provided by Mr. Carl Schlueter over his tenure with Seven Hills, the administration and School Board would like to invite you to a reception hosted by Cedar Valley Church after the final day of school.  Please join us for some refreshments in the front lobby of the Bloomington Campus on June 9th from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.

Busing Application Open Enrollment: Busing application open enrollment is now open. For more information, click HERE.

LOST AND FOUND: We have many, many items in our lost and found. Please make sure your child stops by if they have lost an item along the way. We have water bottles, sweatshirts, Seven Hills' shirts, jackets, and more. We will be donating all remaining items on June 10th.

2022-2023 Enrollment: As we are eagerly preparing for our 22-23 school year, and as we do at this time every year, we are asking for your assistance.

  • If your SHPA student(s) will continue their educational journey with us for the 2022-2023 school year, there is nothing further for you to doThis does include our current SHPA 5th graders (at both campuses) who will be joining us for 6th grade at the Richfield Campus. All of these returning students automatically have a spot in their forthcoming grade and we look forward to seeing all of you back at SHPA next school year!
  • IF your SHPA student(s) will not be continuing their educational journey with us for the 2022-2023 school year, we will need you to fill out a Student Withdrawal Form HERE. Please return a completed withdrawal form to your respective Enrollment Coordinator no later than Wednesday, May 25, 2021.
    • For grades Kindergarten through Fifth (Richfield and Bloomington):  Ms. Leslie Rimstad at 612-314-7603 or

COVID-19 Update: We have been experiencing a ripple in positive cases recently, so please remember to symptom-screen your child(ren) before school and self-test at home for free if you are experiencing symptoms. For additional COVID-19 information, please continue to visit our COVID-19 webpage where you will find various resources and links including health-screening, testing options, and reduced isolation guidelines under the planning and resources tabs. Thank you for continuing to help keep our students and staff healthy and learning and working in school.

Help Build Our Libraries: We are excited to announce an opportunity for you to help our libraries grow!  We have 2 libraries at the Richfield Campus: an Elementary and a Middle School Library. When we first opened, we gratefully received hundreds of donated books to help us fill our shelves. We have now reached a point where we have a great base of books and are strategically building the collections largely from student requests and new releases. The kids love requesting their favorite books and new releases that they are excited to read. They flock to the new book displays and ask weekly if their requested books have arrived. Now we are inviting you to be part of that process by donating the specific books that our students are eager to read. We keep running request lists on Amazon. You can buy them there or you can get them from your favorite, local bookstore. We love being part of fostering your student’s love of reading and are happy to offer this opportunity to support our libraries. Thank you!

Nystrom & Associates School-Based Therapy: School-Based therapy is a convenient way to provide mental health therapy to students. It removes barriers such as transportation and scheduling difficulties which often stands in the way of students receiving therapy. It also allows for students to work with therapists directly in the environment in which they often struggle the most; in school. Our therapists can provide individual therapy, assessments and referrals for additional services. In addition, there is the possibility of seeing the child and the family outside of regular school hours.

If you have any questions about School-Based Therapy at Seven Hills Prep Academy, please contact  School counselors: Brittany Keating or Mende Symington at the Richfield Campus or Karissa Larson at the Bloomington Campus.
School Website: Please use our current website, to read about many aspects of our school life, including schedules, events, and updates. This is the most important resource for our community. Our goal is to keep open, consistent and detailed communication with everyone and we update the website information regularly.

Citizenship Corner: This week in Mrs. Lee's elementary media classes, students have been working on digital citizenship. The 4th and 5th graders discussed how to keep games fun and friendly online, 2nd and 3rd graders discussed who is in their online community and what information to keep private, and K and 1st graders discussed what websites they can trust using their "internet traffic light." Here is a fun family activity from common sense media to help parents continue the conversation at home and help keep your children safe online this summer!

School Supplies for Next Year: SHPA families can choose to shop independently for next year's school supplies, OR order a school supply kit online through the PTA. School supply lists for all grades are now simplified and common across both campuses, which lets the PTA offer each kit at a significantly lower price than past years. Kits no longer include general classroom supplies such as paper towels or tissues -- those will be shipped separately to each campus -- AND the PTA has negotiated free shipping for kits to be sent directly to a family's home prior to the start of school next year. We're thrilled to offer this convenient, cost effective option for your child's school supplies! The secure online ordering link is available NOW through July 15

To order, follow these steps:
  1. Go to
  2. Richfield Campus: Enter the school ID as SHP000 (3 letters, and 3 numbers).
  3. Bloomington Campus: Enter the school ID as SEV045 (3 letters, and 3 numbers).
  4. Follow the directions to complete your order.
  5. Keep your online confirmation as your receipt.
Keep in mind that sales tax will be applied at checkout. Remember that each kit will be shipped to your home. Do not enter the school address as your shipping address. Lastly, once you receive the kits at your home, you may choose to bring kits to Back to School Night in August, or fit the supplies into your child’s backpack to bring on the first day of school. Thank you for supporting the SHPA PTA! For those families choosing to shop for school supplies instead, the updated school supply lists will be posted to the SHPA website soon.

Used Uniform Donations: Has your child outgrown their uniforms? Would you like to clear out space in the closets? We are accepting donations of your gently used uniforms now through the end of the school year. Donations should be free of rips and stains. You can drop off donations at the main office of either campus.

Used Uniform Sale: The PTA will host its summer uniform sale on Saturday, August 20, at the SHPA Richfield campus! Families from both the Bloomington Campus and the Richfield Campus are welcome to shop the sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day. We'll communicate specifics again via the Online Family Directory and social media channels as the date approaches. Can't wait to see you there!

June PTA Meeting: Our next meeting is set for Monday, June 13 in Room 305 at the Bloomington campus. We'll socialize with some light snacks at 5:00, and the meeting begins at 5:30. The meeting will end no later than 7:00 p.m., and all are welcome to join the meeting, whether or not you've formalized your PTA Membership.

Dine to Donate: Thanks to those who joined us at Jersey Mike's in May to enjoy best in class food and support our school! We received $450 in donations through that event, and we're so thrilled to be able to use those dollars to fund our '22-'23 teacher conference dinner events. On June 14, we'll be dining together at the
Culvers in Bloomington. Watch for details via email and social media, and see you there!

Park Play Day: Thanks to our Kindergarten and First Grade families who joined us for our first Park Play Day this past Saturday at the Bloomington campus playground! Our next Park Play Day is scheduled for Tuesday evening, June 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Whether you're enrolled at the SHPA Bloomington campus, or the SHPA Richfield campus, all Kindergarten and First Grade families are welcome to join. You'll meet incoming Kindergarten families while connecting with existing Kindergarten and First Grade SHPA families. Come play with our newest SHPA families and have fun at the Bloomington campus playground!

Online Family Directory: Have you joined the Online Family Directory yet? Register or update your family information
here, and you'll automatically receive email communication from the PTA. You can also decide whether to make your contact information public for easy connection to other Seven Hills families. Instructions for how to join the directory are linked here.
