And so we enter lockdown... (again)

Another 4 weeks of staying at home. How do you plan on spending the next few weeks? We know that feeling uncertain about the future is an uncomfortable experience. But whether its binge-watching your favourite Netflix series, baking banana bread or investing time in your hobbies, we fully support you doing whatever it takes to stay sane and happy.

In the meantime, why not check out some inspiring reads about 'reimagining learning post-COVID' or watch a TEDx talk on 'the surprising science of happiness'?

Big Bold Changes

A-Biden by the SDGs

The recent election of Joe Biden as President of the U.S.A. has brought Republican conservative leadership to an end. Biden's left-winged approach through the Build Back Better campaign could create the opportunity for swift change and recovery. The reforms are likely to boost impact investing, with a greater focus on environmental sustainability.

Moonshot Events

💡 Success at Moonshot's first Ideathon 💡

On November 7th, we hosted our very first virtual ideathon. An ideathon is a quick-fire brainstorming event where you can exercise your entrepreneurial, creative mind and collaborate with others to come up with solutions that address the specific theme of that session.

This time around, we had a crash course on food sustainability, talking about potential solutions to food issues on campus (think food waste, ethical sourcing, packaging etc.). The session started with an inspirational opening talk by the founder of TEND, and ended with 10 viable solutions cumulated through thought-provoking, deep-dive conversations between societies & union representatives.

We hope to take these ideas forward to the Union and begin making tangible positive impacts to the community. Check out our recent Linkedin post for a more detailed summary of the event!

Our team recommendations

I'm not sure if its the extra time I have from being at home more, or the caffeine from my Pret subscription coffees, but I've found myself imbued with an underlying sense of restlessness these days. That's why this book has been a game-changer; Amidst the uncertainty and challenges of the current climate, finding stillness from within not only enables us to remain grounded, but also gives us a sense of hope that it's not what happens to us, but how we react to it, that ultimately shapes our life.
