Strategic partnership: ScienceForWork

One of the core principles of evidence-based practice is using the best available scientific research to help inform your decisions. But accessing, understanding and appraising scientific evidence can be extremely challenging. We’re delighted to partner with ScienceForWork who have made it their mission to make high quality, trustworthy scientific evidence summaries available to everyone, for free.

In our latest guest blog post - 'Trustworthy scientific evidence for all' - their founder, Lorenzo Galli, talks about their work and why critically appraising is so important.

Evidence summary: Generational differences at work - myth or reality?

Despite what you may have read about the generational differences in work-related attitudes, the scientific evidence simply does not support the rhetoric. ScienceForWork have summarised the findings of Costanza and colleagues (2012), who conducted a quantitative meta-analysis published in the Journal of Business and Psychology, having reviewed hundreds of articles and studies across nearly 20,000 workers, to see if generational differences had an effect on job satisfaction, organisational commitment, and intent to turnover.

Evidence-based decision-making training course

This one-day in-house training module provides employees with an insight into the limitations of human decision-making at work, including how we can easily fall prey to fads and fashions, personal biases and ‘thinking errors’. We explore why it can be so difficult to make effective decisions in an organisational setting and provide tools and techniques to improve our objectivity when it comes to implementing new initiatives, making changes and evaluating our own and others’ critical thinking.
