We invite you to join us for Holy Week and Easter Services.
Wednesday, April 1: JAM and Youth Band Concert at 6:00pm
The Lenten musical series will conclude with a JAM and Youth Band Concert in Fellowship Hall, including dessert and coffee. JAM (Jesus and Me) was founded in 2003 and has provided contemporary praise music for our Fresh Bread worship services for 10 years. Under the direction of Donna Wilkinson, JAM will share some of our favorite songs as well as introduce new songs and highlight several soloists.
Thursday, April 2: The Last Supper Drama at 7:00pm
The Last Supper Drama, directed by Dave Zochert, will again be re-enacted by First Church members. This drama features Mike Troyer as Jesus, Stu Smith as Pilate, the Sanctuary Choir, and a talented group of "disciples." The set is constructed each year by the "disciples," supervised by Peter Berken. There will be communion distributed by the "disciples" mid-drama and a request for silence following the re-enactment of Christ's crucifixion. This has always been a very moving experience. Join us!
Childcare for children ages 0-4 is available during the services. The nursery is located in Room B4 in the lower level.
Friday, April 3: Good Friday Service at 12:15pm
What did the passing crowds see when they looked up at the cross on that Friday afternoon? And what do we see when we look at the cross? "When I Survey" will be our theme this Good Friday as we contemplate together the meaning and the beauty of the cross.
Saturday, April 4: Easter Egg Hunt at 10:00am
Families please join us for the annual Easter egg hunt. The festivities begin in Fellowship Hall and will feature entertainment by the Atwood Players. Children up to the age of 10 are invited to hunt for eggs. Please sign up and let us know if you are able to bring cookies to share. Please remember to bring your Easter basket and a canned food donation to the Good Will Place Pantry.
Sunday, April 5: Easter Celebration Services at 8:00 and 10:00am
Pastor David Kalas will be preaching "All That He Is: Embrace Life." It's not "news" in the sense that we haven't heard it before. But it may be "news" in the sense that we haven't fully understood it. And, either way, it is always "good news!" So join us on Easter Sunday for the news about the One who is the resurrection and the life.
Childcare for children ages 0-4 is available during the Last Supper Drama and Easter Sunday services. The nursery is located in Room B4 in the lower level.
Sunday School will not be held on Easter morning.
Visit our Map and Parking web page for details. We suggest that our younger, more able members park in some of the adjoining areas allowing our older members, our single parents with young children, and our visitors to park closest to the church building.
Services will be available through our new Livestream, FUMCGBStream.
