In response to the CDC's recent guidelines about mask-wearing, there was a conversation with DS Seonyoung Kim and local church PRG teams on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. You can watch the replay video here.
The District is now receiving nominations for At-large members to the 2022 Annual Conference. Click here for the online nomination form. The deadline is Monday, August 16, 2021. Lay Members will be voted on at the District Conference on August 29, 2021, at 2 pm. If you have questions, please contact the District office at
District Conference will be Sunday, August 29 from 2 - 3:30 pm via Zoom. Anyone can attend. However, the following are voting members: clergy, certified lay ministers, lay leaders, chair of council/leadership board, church school superintendent, UMW President, UMM President, District steward, lay member to Annual Conference, District Trustees, District Treasurer, District Lay Leader, District UMW President, District UMM President, District Youth Council rep.

The Charge Conference Orientation will be on August 31 at 10 am via Zoom. Pastors, Admins, and others who prepare for Charge Conference should plan to attend. Click here to register.

This is the final week to register for the Virginia Conference's Lay Servant Academy Training Day, which takes place on Saturday, August 21st. There are still some openings in a few classes such as: 
  • Between the Gospels and Paul – How to read your Bible. This course will teach you ways to understand more about the author's intent for the writing as well as some different approaches to holistic exegesis. 
  • Discernment and Prayer Through Transition also has a few spots available and will emphasize prayer as a spiritual foundation for discernment in the midst of transition.
