We're excited to announce the Fall Festival will include a beer garden. Saturday only at Midtown Service. Must have a Fall Festival button and be 21 years old with a valid ID to enter. Volunteers Needed for Beer Garden

We have permission to set up a Fall Festival Beer Garden on Saturday, October 10. Yay! To make this event a success, we need volunteers to help run it. Chili Cook-Off and Emergency Services Chaplains Chili Feed

Dig out your secret family recipe, grab your crock pot and start mixing up a winning batch of chili. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries. The fee for this event is one crock pot of chili to be donated to the chili feed. Backyard BBQ Contest

Are you the king/queen of the backyard grill? Show us what you've got. Chance to win $1,000 in cash prizes. Meat must be cooked onsite. Generator use is available. Judging begins at 1 PM on Saturday in four categories: Chicken, Spare or Baby Back Ribs, Pork Butt/Shoulder or Brisket.

This is a KIDS ONLY event and a Fall Festival favorite!

BYOT: Bring Your Own Turtle (Avoid snapping turtles - they're mean!) No painting, please. We will number the shell before the race begins. 

PRIZES - Heat winners and 1st, 2nd, 3rd place overall winners will receive prizes. First 100 participants will receive a 2015 Fall Festival Turtle Races T-shirt.

Celebrate National Manufacturing Day by visiting Butler Community College

Manufacturing DayOn Friday October 2, colleges and corporations across the United States will be celebrating National Manufacturing Day, in an effort to reinforce the excellent careers available in the manufacturing sector.  
In cooperation with the Business Education and Training Analysis (BETA) program, Butler Community College is inviting the public to stop by the Andover campus (715 E. 13th Street). During this open house environment, interested parties can tour the Manufacturing Education Facility, learn about the new IT Institute, and find out how BETA/Butler can help with corporate training needs. Refreshments will be served. 

Butler Community College offers CTE degrees, certificates and non-credit educational programs. Students can also train in biotechnology, welding, IT, continuous improvement, 3D printing, manufacturing engineering technology, and engineering graphics technologies.

General Chamber Meeting

Members! Our next General Chamber meeting is Thursday, October 15 at noon. Come to the Fire Station to hear from our guest speaker, Michelle Eastman, from Rainbows United. Plus, Jason Jones will talk about upcoming events in Rose Hill including the busy holiday season ahead. As always, we'll also be talking about the Chamber as a whole, what it's doing for the Rose Hill business district, and what we would like to see in the future.
