President’s Report 2023
Hello everyone,
Happy New Year everyone who is reading this (and please note that I do not and will never, address you as “guys”), I hope that you have had time to indulge in lots of restorative reading and relaxing. As you will see further on in this enews, there has been planning for our annual calendar. The meeting was open to all members and it was fabulous that Lorraine and Peter came along to contribute to our deliberations. We are having a further planning session on 24 February 4pm-6pm at 7 Maxworthy Street Kambah and again all members are welcome.
We will start the year off with a celebration on Library Lover’s Day. A table has been booked at Bookplate, the café in the foyer of the National Library for 10.00am on Tuesday 14 February. Attendees are to bring a children’s picture book or novel in a brown paper bag (so that is concealed) and write a set of clues to be read out one at a time for people to try to guess the book, before a big reveal. Please let Julie know if you are coming so that she can adjust the booking if needed julie_h_long@hotmail.com
The Night of the Notables will be at The Book Cow on 28th February. Drinks and nibbles will be served and bookings will soon be available on Hello Club.
Please note that we are acknowledging our sponsors at the end of our enews from now on. Our Branch is happy to have approaches from any group or company that is like minded and would be interested in forming a working, agreeable sponsor type connection.
Happy reading everyone,
Julie Long
