Welcome to Walden.

All new Walden Students met with our School Counselor, Haley Kerby. They ate lunch together in her office and just chatted about how things are going here at Walden so far this year. Haley wasn't surprised to find out that recess is everyone's favorite part of the day:) and was so happy to hear that all the kids are having a great start to the school year here.

Anna Mamalot is supporting the Walden community in the main office, classrooms and Extended Day. Anna is a former Women's Tennis Athlete at Texas A&M University and has been involved with tennis coaching and athletics for more than 5 years.

Ingrid Swan has been named as Walden’s new Director of Communications. Ingrid has been a marketing and strategy consultant for organizations in New York, Philadelphia, and Greenwich, CT in the areas of education, healthcare, finance and business development.

Peace Day

The Walden School celebrated International Day of Peace by painting rocks with their wishes for peace. Children gathered outdoors, shared their messages for peace and then took their rocks home to place around their communities.

The Artist’s Corner

Student artists are celebrating Hispanic Heritage month and learning about the traditional painted wood carvings in Oaxaca, Mexico. Each student created a drawing of a spirit animal and then sculpted the animal in clay. Students adorned their animals using bold and joyfully colored patterns in both their two-dimensional and three-dimensional art work.

Grades 5/6, The Lemonade War

In response to grades 5/6 summer reading of The Lemonade War, the Middle School students collaborated, created and hosted lemonade stands. The project included working together to design a flier, compose a speech, create a marketing strategy, and run a lemonade stand. The class made a little over $200.00 to donate to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and had a fun learning experience in the process.
