It's National Women's History Month

During the month of March, we remember women's achievements and contributions throughout history—while looking ahead to continue the fight for pay equity, equal representation, and more. We've come a long way, but our work isn't over—#KeepMarching with AAUW!
Check out the MTSU National Women's History Month calendar for a wealth of programming celebrating trailblazing women in business and labor. Don't miss keynote speaker A’Lelia Bundles at the opening ceremony on Wednesday, March 15.

AAUW is proud to co-sponsor MTSU's Women's and Gender Studies Interdisciplinary Conference, March 23-25, 2017, as part of MTSU's National Women's History Month programming. In addition to paper sessions, the conference features speakers, workshops, performances and film screenings. Read the full conference calendar here.

The conference is free to MTSU faculty, staff, and students.  All conference events are free and open to the public.

Don't forget to reserve your seats for Equali-TEA—and tell a friend!

AAUW Murfreesboro invites you to join us at Equali-TEA, a high tea (hats optional) event to fundraise for scholarships for MTSU women students returning to complete a degree. Equali-TEA celebrates the economic contributions of women in the workforce.

For 50 years, AAUW Murfreesboro has been awarding scholarships to women returning to complete their undergraduate degrees at MTSU. This year, we offer a new scholarship for under represented graduate students.
“The Ruth Houston Memorial Scholarship has provided some financial relief for my family so I can work less. It is motivating to see how AAUW lifts others up in their community, and it inspires me to do something great after I graduate.” Bethany Jackson, former recipient

Equal Pay Day

April 4, 2017 marks the day until which the average US woman must work to earn the same 2016 salary as her male counterpart earned in the calendar year. We "celebrate" Equal Pay Day by helping to raise awareness and take action.
AAUW Murfreesboro will be on MTSU campus educating folks about the gender pay gap. Stop by and see us at the AAUW table in the Student Union Building, April 4 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

New! Equal Pay Day t-shirts

Don't miss out: wear your red t-shirt on April 4 in solidarity with women across the country fighting for Equal Pay for Equal Work. All proceeds benefit AAUW of Tennessee, so our state organization can continue providing programming, scholarships, and grants to AAUW Murfreesboro and branches across the state.
