Meet Our New Team Members
LVGH is excited to announce that we have added three new and exceptional employees to our team! As we continue to grow, we want to offer our students more resources and opportunities to succeed. That is where our new staff members come in. Read on to learn about the individuals who have joined LVGH!
Rebecca Hawkins is our new Director of Programs. She will be overseeing the Career Pathways Programming and will be ensuring that students have the proper resources they need to succeed. Rebecca has a passion for travel and education which is clear from the moment you meet her. She is fluent in Italian and even had the chance to live in Florence, Italy where she taught ESOL for five years! We are very lucky to have her on board!
Leo Jones is our new Career Pathways Facilitator and the go to for the Job Readiness Program. In addition to providing career counseling at our Hartford location, Leo will be available to help students in East Hartford and provide support for programming at the Wickham location! He loves giving back to his community and has been enjoying getting to know our students!
Kathy Sweeney is responsible for volunteer tutor training as well as career and job readiness counseling and training for students. She is a seasoned training professional with expertise in curriculum design, program management, skills and competency training, leadership development, and coaching. For three years prior to joining the team, Kathy served as a volunteer ESOL tutor, so luckily she already knows the students well!

Career Pathways
With generous support from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, David and Helen B. Kaplan Fund, and Beatrice Fox Auerbach Foundation, we are launching our new Career Pathways program, designed to help students reach their academic, employment, and career goals.
Through our language, digital, and job readiness programs, we have successfully helped many students earn their high school diplomas, enter job training programs, enroll in community college, and find jobs. Career Pathways will enhance our programs with professional career counseling, employer partnerships, mentoring, and internships. Lots more to follow on this exciting addition to our programming.
