More than two years ago I saw a carton specially designed for deliveries in a French trade publication. I considered using them because of the breakage problems that I had in the past.
These are produced in Bordeaux, France, I originally planned to buy some and transport them to the UK myself, the pandemic put paid to that.
In September of last year I purchased 50 at 4€ a piece and shipped 20 to the UK. The plan was to offer deliveries and get some trade with the Christmas demand. I got cold feet with that idea when memories returned of the previous problems that I experienced.
About a month ago a very good client (French) contacted me, he lives in London and has not bought any wine from me for nearly 10 years. He was complaining not for the first time, that he could not buy our wine and he had finished the last of our white that he had Blanc 2012..
So I offered to use the new cartons I would not pass on the cost of the carton but he paid the actual delivery cost: £12 a carton. He agreed and bought 6 cartons and the delivery went well.
In the past the warehouse had an agreement with a courier service and could offer me a standard charge, that is not the case now. I have to use a broker.
I have put this service on our shopping cart as standard charge of £12 to most UK mainland destinations with certain conditions.
Planting Font du Clos
Click on the above image to see a very short video of planting a vine. the last time I planted a vineyard by hand was 2006. it was very dry we had not had rain for some time.
We have very recently planted another vineyard at Font du Clos, I have now planted more than ten vineyards. 1,855 vines it took three of us three days. Mourvedre and Syrah, the land is classified as Signargues Cotes du Rhone Village.
If you look closely you should be able to see the guide wire for planting, they have been watered, you can see the tracks made by the tractor and spray we used.
We plan to have regular offers on our app if you are interested you should allow push notifications to be informed and open an account and leave it open. Requires: name, email and password.
