Plans brewing to renovate historic theater 

San Clemente's landmark Miramar Theater has been closed for more than 20 years. Recently, plans were presented to renovate the historic site that was built in 1938, transforming it into an iconic gateway into the city. Learn more.


Justin Winery property in Paso Robles to be donated after tree removal

A 380-acre parcel of land in North County, Paso Robles will be donated to a local non-profit after owners re-evaluated the impact of oak tree removal on the property.

Walt Disney House Saved From Wrecking Ball, at Least Temporarily

The 1914 Los Feliz home that once belonged to the aunt and uncle of Walt Disney and acted as his first studio was destined to be demolished by new owners. The Kingswell Avenue residence got a reprieve from the city's Director of Planning, Vincent P. Bertoni, who initiated an Historic-Cultural Monument application for the house. Read more about its future.

Government changes to affect the future of California State Parks

Governor Jerry Brown is looking to sustain California's state parks into the 21st century with a major system overhaul.

The transformation, as outlined by a panel appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown, is meant to move past a management scandal that engulfed the parks system in 2012 and to extend the promise of places that serve as playground, refuge, classroom and museum for up to 75 million visitors a year.
