Fruit and Vege Project

St Mark's Anglican Church Green Island is now a distribution centre for All Saints Fruit and Veges, 10am till 12pm on Thursdays.
You can order a pack online at or come into the Distribution Centre to make an order.
Orders are made the Thursday before delivery i.e. you pay for your order a week in advance.

Recipe of the Month

1 c shredded coconut
½ c ground almond
70g hazelnuts, roughly chopped
70g sliced almonds
1 Tbsp chia seeds
1 – 2 Tbsp honey
1 – 2 Tbsp melted butter
Pinch sea salt

6 ripe pears
Juice of 1 lemon
2 Tbsp honey
½ tsp cinnamon
½ c water
1 ½ tsp cornflour
2 c frozen raspberries
  1. Preheat oven to 170˚c
  2. Peel and core the pears and chop into bite sized chunks.  Place in a large frying pan with lemon juice, ¼ c water, cinnamon and honey and place over a medium to high heat until they are warmed through and nearly tender, stirring very gently with a wooden spoon to avoid breaking pear.
  3. Mix remaining ¼ c water and cornflour in a cup.  Take the pears off the heat and add the cornflour mix to the pan, stirring gently.
  4. Place back on the heat and continue stirring gently until the liquid thickens, coating the pears.
  5. Add the raspberries and stir to combine.
  6. Place in an oven proof dish and set aside.
  7. To make the crumble, combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly to combine.
  8. Place an even layer of the crumble mix over the pears and raspberries and bake uncovered for about 20 minutes, until crumble topping is golden and the fruit is bubbling.
  9. Serve with yoghurt, whipped cream, ice cream or whipped coconut cream.
