“Meet & Greet” – my chance to get to know each of you better.
Here are scheduled dates and times for each shepherding group and the latest list so you know which Elder you are connected with. There has been some confusion around the “meet & greet” gatherings. So please take a minute to review this, find your group, and find its scheduled meeting date.
We recognize that not all dates fit for all people. You are welcome to attend any of the other dates if you prefer.
I do encourage you to participate. I have specific questions that I am asking each of you and your groups in our meeting time so I can learn more about you. It is also a great time for others to learn about you and for you to learn about the people who attend. As time allows, I will also answer questions you may have about me. If we run out of time and you have more questions, I’m happy to follow up with you.
I am holding each of you in my prayers during this covid time. May God bless you and keep you. And may you shine your light of God’s love into a weary world.

On Labor Day, GSCC's parking lot flooded and water entered the building. The entryway, part of the new addition up to the men's restroom, and a smidge of the sanctuary entrance were flooded from the backed-up drain. Many thanks to the volunteers who came to the rescue to unclog the drain, push out the water, put fans out and provide quick communication: John Humphrey, Bob and Donna Fenton, Jim Hensley, Rachael Hensley, Dave Ruch, Tom McCray, Robb Hensley, Kaleena Hensley, and Steve Noble. We are grateful for you!! Follow-up cleaning and restoration is being scheduled as we share this, as well as a thorough drain clean out. Please join us in prayer for clean-up and of gratitude for the many helpers!
- Pastor Nina Note: Board members: Be on the lookout for more information in your email.

Our pets are a blessing to us…join us in blessing them!
Bring your pet (or a photo of your pet) to the front lawn of the church to not only have your personal pet blessed, but all of God’s animal kingdom blessed.
Coffee Table Conversation
Join us for our next Coffee Table Conversation on Monday, September 14 at 7:30 pm. We will be continuing our in-depth discussion on the book Pre-Post-Racial America by Sandhya Rani Jha. Discussion will be for chapters 6-9.
Below you will find discussion questions to ponder for the upcoming conversation:
Ch 6: Are there similarities between class bias and race bias? Is there a double penalty for some members of the community who are seen as both? Ch. 7: What does supporting people of different religions when they are persecuted have to do with the Beloved Community? Ch. 8: What does the issue of the school-to-prison pipeline have to do with the Beloved Community? Ch. 9: What conversations have you heard about Native American named sports teams? What do you think about them? Have you heard the thoughts of Native Americans in our community? Why or why not?
Do you bake bread or enjoy a special bread? World Communion Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday, October 4. We would love to have pictures emailed to the church office by Sunday, September 27, of your bread. Pictures of you baking it or just the bread on your table to be used in a slide show during our worship service.
We would also like to widen our outreach of World Communion Sunday to the community! If you are able to bake small loaves of bread of any kind and wrap them individually, we would love to give them to our families that pick up food through our Welcome Table Ministry that afternoon. They can be dropped off at the church on Sunday, October 4 between 9 & 9:30 am or between 11 & 11:30 am. If you have any questions please contact the church office.
If you have a prayer request for the Pastors and/or to be held in prayer by members of our community, please fill out a Prayer Request form. You can also find the form on the homepage AND the "contact us" section of our website.
