From the Lead Pastor:

A Litany for the World

Where ignorance, self-love and insensitivity have fractured life in community,
give Your light, O God of love.
Where injustice and oppression have broken the spirit of peoples,
give Your light, O God who frees.
Where hunger and poverty, illness and death have made life an unbearable burden,
give Your light, O God of grace.
Where suspicion and hatred, conflict and fear have challenged your goodness,
give Your light, O God of peace.
Eternal God,
open the eyes of the nations and peoples so that they may walk in the light of love:
remove the ignorance and stubbornness of nations and peoples so that they may drink from the fountains of Your goodness.
Amen.

Gretchen Nahas would like to express her deepest gratitude for all the prayers, love, and support surrounding her mother's passing.

Annually at Good Shepherd we remember our loved ones that are no longer with us physically but remain in our hearts. Normally we would have you bring a picture of your loved one(s) to the church and light candles in memory of them.

This year we wish to celebrate their lives by having you submit a photo of a picture of your loved one with a lit candle next to it. Those with smartphones can even submit the photo with the "live" feature that shows a quick flicker of flame. These can be sent to the church office by email or postal mail by Tuesday, October 20. If you would prefer to text your photo please text Pastor Jill.

Good News!
Starting for November we will be publishing a monthly newsletter again! This will be sent out, via email or postal mail (for those without email), on the Tuesday before the last full week of every month to be sure it is received in time to begin the next month’s calendar. For example, the November newsletter will be sent out on October 20, and the December newsletter will be sent out November 17. We will also be taking newsletter contributions! If you have an announcement or something you would like to share, please email it to the church office. For November's newsletter, the due date for submissions is Friday, October 16. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the church office.

Prayer Gathering Update

*Time change* October 25 @ 5:45 pm - in the churchyard, weather permitting. You are invited to contact the office or one of the pastors if you would like to attend and/or would like updates about the prayer service.

*Please bring a blanket or chair, a mask, and be willing to safely distance.*

There has been a change in the Welcome Table schedule. Going forward the pantry item food pickup for those in need will be Tuesdays from 11:30 am - 12 pm (previously Wednesdays in the same time slot). If you have any questions or would like more information please contact the Welcome Table Food Ministry.
