The voice of rural women has been missing from our history and continues to be rarely heard. ‘From Inside the Farm Gate’ invited rural farming women to share their experience of navigating tough times.  Through digital storytelling, women worked together to create personal stories in a safe, trusted, peer supported environment—facilitating emotional expression without judgment, building self-confidence, a sense of achievement and encouraging positive social contact. The resulting stories are being publicly exhibited—providing inspiration, promoting communication and encouraging reflection, empathy and understanding. Thanks to our funders the Victorian Womens Trust and the Buckland Foundation.

We invite you to view the digital stories and record your impressions at https://www.farmerhealth.org.au/inside-farm-gate
START SNAPPING!

Farming, as both an industry and a way of life, is changing rapidly—shifting weather patterns, developing production methods, improving farm safety opportunities and changing family farming structures, to name a few. What hasn’t changed is the importance of farming in Australia and the necessity to share, inspire and educate other Australians about this.

As we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the NCFH, we invite you to share your vision of all that is changing in agriculture and farming—the challenges and the opportunities.
Entries are now being accepted in eight categories, including a new photo plus healthy recipe and Instagram categories. Sections are available for Open, Secondary student and Primary student photographers. Thank you to our generous supporters.

We are very pleased to announce a new sponsorship agreement with Metalcorp, supporting our mission to “make a difference to farmers’ lives”. (Read more on this here)

One of our new initiatives with Metalcorp will extend the reach of our service delivery across rural Australia at selected field days. NCFH staff will be delivering short and interactive education sessions on health, wellbeing and safety issues facing farmers and agricultural workers at Metalcorp sites. We are excited about the opportunities this brings to rural communities.

Our new ‘soap box’ style delivery will be kicking off on the hour at the Metalcorp site CB17-18 at Farm World, Lardner Park on 12 – 14 April 2018  - make sure you stop by and check them out!
