2016 Registration Dates

Spring is here and that means it’s time to register for programs at MMAAC Rowing. Dates for registration are as follows:

7:30 PM Wednesday, March 23, Boat Bay, MicMac AAC, 192 Prince Albert Road

7:30 PM Wednesday, March 30, Boat Bay,  MicMac AAC

10 AM – 12 PM Saturday, April 9, Upstairs, MicMac AAC

10 AM – 12 PM, Saturday, April 23, Upstairs, MicMac AAC

10 AM – 12 PM, Saturday, May 7, Boat Bay, MicMac AAC

6-8 PM, Thursday, May 12, Boat Bay, MicMac AAC

Complete the form and RCA registration process prior to signing up. To download the form, which includes a complete listing of programs and instructions on how to sign up on the RCA website click herePlease review Cold Water Rules prior to signing up for the early season session. It is up to the coach’s discretion for on-water sessions.

Wine & Beer Tasting & Silent Auction

Saturday, April 9, 7-10:30 PM

Despite some confusion on Facebook this week with the cancellation and re-creation of the Facebook event, things are still going ahead on April 9 as planned!!!

For active members selling tickets, if you haven't sold your tickets yet, there is still time for a final push. Don't be shy about sharing with your network of friends and family. Extra tickets are available if needed, and remember that if you sell 9 tickets, the 10th one is free!

For new and seasonal members - we look forward to seeing you again both at this event and on the water soon. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased in advance by contacting any member of the rowing program, emailing:, or purchasing online through PayPal here.

Junior Development Summer CAMP Program

The Junior Development program has been updated to a week-long day-camp format for 2016. The camp runs from 9 AM-4 PM daily, with the option for early drop-off and late pick-up from 8 AM-5 PM. Six weekly camps will be offered to youth aged 12-17. For full details visit

To help launch this new program, we are challenging all members to help recruit participants. Think about your own children, neighbours, nieces/ nephews, friends of friends, etc. Members that recruit a youth participant into the program will receive a ballot into a draw for a great prize for every week the youth is registered in camp. Please contact Rhonda or Cynthia with any questions or to register!

Support for the Junior Development Summer Camp Program is provided by Rowing Canada Aviron and Sport Nova Scotia.

Deadline Extended: Summer Coaching Job Call

Mic Mac AAC Rowing is recruiting full-time and part-time coaches for its spring and summer rowing programs. Coaches are responsible for developing and leading the Learn to Row, Novice, Recreational, and Competitive programs for adults, and the Junior Summer Camp Programs. Coaches will also have responsibilities related to program promotion, and equipment and facility maintenance. Candidates must have current Emergency First Aid, CPR and Pleasure Craft Operators Card, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Preference will be given to individuals actively engaged in NCCP training and certification, including Learn to Row Instructor, RCA Coach, RCA Performance Coach, or equivalent. 

Deadline extended: Applicants are requested to send a cover letter and CV by Friday, March 25 to Please include details of your rowing, coaching, and other leadership experience.

Congrats to all our Erg Marathon athletes!

The Row Nova Scotia Provincial Team hosted the 2nd Annual Half and Full Erg Marathon on Sunday March 6, 2016 at the Provincial Training Center, Dartmouth. MMAAC Rowing had a strong roster of athletes in attendance. Congrats to Greg Sherkoske, Pat Cody, Chris Williams, Steve Horsewill, Mel Goodday, Niall Burke for completing the half marathon and Tracy Brown for completing the full marathon! Go team Mic Mac!
