Dear Rider

There is just one week to go before we welcome you to our Black Shuck Sportive. We hope you are getting excited about your ride

As part of your preparation for the day, we ask that you read the event information carefully as it contains details that will ensure the event runs smoothly and that you have a great day. 

Important information includes a reminder of your start time, the venue address, how to get to the car park, emergency numbers, feed station locations, and what you may need to bring with you.

We look forward to welcoming you to the event. Have fun, stay safe and we will see you on the start line.

DO NOT download the routes until 5pm on Saturday 06th August as the routes might change when we put out the route signs.
VENUE INFORMATION

Event Parking 

There will be plenty of  parking at The Thursford Collection. Please following the parking signs at the venue and please DO No park past the main gate as you will obstruct riders who will be leaving the event centre and you will ultimately obstruct yourself. 


Parking Cost. 
Cost of Parking is £2.00 per car. - Please have Cash ready. 
50% of this fee with go to Break Charity to Support Young People

The Registration Process

Registration will open 15 minutes before the beginning of your start wave, Please do not turn up before you allocation start wave as you will be asked to wait. 
 
You do not need to pre-select a starting slot as each distance has its own pre-defined 30 / 45-minute start wave. Please take careful note of the start wave times for each distance. 
 
Long route start wave (90 Miles)
08:15 - 08:45
 
Middle route start wave (60 Miles)
08:45 - 09:30

Short route start wave (30 Miles)
09:30 - 10:00

Family route start wave (10 Miles)
09::45 - 10:15



Once you have registered you can head to the event village and prepare to start your ride. We will aim to get you through the start line as soon as possible after receiving your event number in order to minimise the number of cyclists in the event village at any one time.
Timing Cut-offs

In order to ensure that all Long and Medium route riders have finished the ride by 4:45 pm, there will be a cut-off points on the route. All Long and Medium route riders must have not left or  made it to your last feed-zone by 1:45pm located 60miles or 30miles in to your chosen distance.  You will be directed to the finish line or the Family Route to complete another 10 miles maximum  If you are a slow-ish rider on the 60 or 90 mile course please leave at the start of your wave to give yourself the maximum amount of time.

Rider Briefing
The ride briefing at the start of our events has changed in order to maximise social distancing and minimise the time you need to spend at the start line. You can see the new briefing for the event below.
It is YOUR responsibility to read this briefing video to understand how the route will be signed and how to keep yourself during the event.
  1. Blue signs are for the 10 mile Familiy Route only. 
  2. Pink Signs are for everyone else. 
  3. All riders except 10 mile route will do loop 1 first, then loop 2, then loop 3.
  4. All riders must obey the high way code
  5. If tri bars are fitted to your bike these must not use these under any circumstances 
  6. If we have erected a 'caution slow down' sign please slow down
  7. Please ride single file on single lane roads
Essential Items

You must bring the following items
- A helmet
- Your order confirmation (or ID)
- A refillable water bottle
- Spare inner tubes + pump 

Other highly recommended items for the ride include
- Weather appropriate clothing
- A working red rear light
- Hand sanitiser
- A facial covering
Feed Stations

The following feed stations will be available whilst out on the route. These are a great place to top up your bottles and energy supplies. However, due to COVID-19, we do ask that you keep the amount of time you are stopped to a minimum.

Posh BBQ & Coffee Stand

Thursford will be operating a posh BBQ from 11am,
Thursford will also have the Bar open from approx 11am. 

Norfolk Cycling Events will be selling fresh coffee, tea and a selection of cakes from approx. 11am

Both caterers would prefer contactless payment so please remember your cards. 
 
Weather Update

The long-range forecast for Sunday looks like pretty good at the moment, Mostly sunny with some cloud . We'll keep an eye out for any changes too the forecast and update you again nearer the event day if required.
