Learning Matters

This December, we’re looking back at all the ways the Learning Lab community engaged with us in 2022. Many of you contributed content to our newly redesigned website to share your perspectives on learning and adapting in development programming. During the summer, participants in the 2022 CLA Case Competition added 120 new cases representing over 70 countries and a dozen sectors to the knowledge base. Just last month, USAID released its first Local Capacity Strengthening Policy. 

We are excited to see how many of you engaged with us this year. Community members posted new content and shared old favorites. Among the most read topics are a step-by-step guide on theory of change and a “How-To Note” for activity monitoring, evaluation, and learning plans.

• Staff in the USAID Bureau for Development, Democracy, and Innovation wrote a blog on engaging nontraditional and local partners in collective action. This spotlight on the New Partnerships Initiative is the fifth blog in the Collective Action Blog Series.
• Monalisa Salib, with Social Impact, discussed localization in action throughout different phases of the Program Cycle in USAID's Vietnam Mission.
• Learn from CARE’s Learning from Failure initiative in a new blog discussing tips to better understand common problems that projects faced during implementation.
