FEATURED AUTO

1956 Ford Ranch Wagon

In honor of our new Vintage Station Wagon exhibit in the Route 66 gallery, this month's featured auto is the 1959 Ford Ranch Wagon.

By the early 1950s, the era of the wood-bodied station wagon was coming to an end and Ford was looking to give people a station wagon with a more modern look. The Ranch Wagon was created in 1954 as a slightly upgraded version of their Customline wagon and was given the new Y-block V8.

This wagon has driven every mile of Route 66 and has the license plate (complete with splattered bugs) to prove it.  It is currently on display, so be sure to visit ACM and see it for yourself!
NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK
Volunteers Help Drive America’s Car Museum
National Volunteer Week was established in 1974 by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, and it is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. This year, National Volunteer Week runs April 12 – 18 and ACM is lucky to have almost 300 volunteers to recognize for their generous gifts of time. Read more here.
