Access NI Enhanced Checks
Carrickfergus Community Forum is a registered Umbrella Body with Access NI. This means that we submit enhanced criminal record checks for community organisations in Carrickfergus. Access NI authorises umbrella bodies to provide these services to organisations.

You need an nidirect account to apply online for a standard check. You can only apply if the organisation that asked you to get the check gave you a personal identification number (PIN). Your application must approved by the AccessNI-registered organisation before being submitted to AccessNI for processing.

TESCO: Bags of Help Grants
Managed by Groundwork NI, the Tesco Bags of Help offers grants of up to £2000 for community projects through the money raised from its carrier bag charge.  Grants are for voluntary or community organisations (including registered charities/companies), schools, health bodies, Parish/Town Councils, local authorities and social housing providers.

ESB: Aughrim Landfill Programme
Managed by Groundwork NI, Aughrim Landfill Programme provides grants of £5,000 to £10,000 for community groups in NI working in the conservation and promotion of biodiversity projects and protection of social environment.

The National Lottery Community Fund: Awards for All Northern Ireland
Provides grants of £300 to £10,000 for projects which bring real improvements to communities and to the lives of people most in need.  They fund projects which involve people in their communities, bringing them together to enjoy a wide range of charitable, community, educational, environmental and health-related activities.

Rayne Foundation
Funds creative ways of tackling entrenched social issues through the arts, health, wellbeing, and education.They particularly welcome applications addressing their three areas of special interest, Young People's Mental Health, Arts as a Tool to Achieve Social Change and Improved Quality of Life for Carers and for Older People.

Key Dates for your Fundraising Diary 📅

Leverhulme Research Project Grants
Available for any research topic, with the choice of theme and research approach left entirely to applicants. Up to £500,000 over five years is available for salaries for research staff engaged on the project and associated costs directly related to the proposed research.

Hilden Charitable Fund
Awards grants to projects both in the UK and in developing countries. The aim of the fund is to address disadvantages, notably by supporting causes which are less likely to raise funds from public subscriptions. Both the UK and overseas fund policy is directed largely at supporting work at community level.   Also fund core costs as well as project costs.
