Leaving school and wondering what to do next?


If so our Training & Learning Support Officers can help you think about your options and prepare for the next steps.

The team works closely with all colleges, training organisations and the Careers Service across N.Ireland to support over 600 trainees on the Training for Success (TfS) programme.
If you are aged between 16 and 22 and are looking for support in education and training to achieve your goals, our team can advise and help you get on the right course for you, help you settle into your training course or help you to become more independent and prepare for the world of work.

Mid and East Antrim’s Loneliness Network is thrilled to launch its first ‘Chatty Bench’ in the borough!💛
Located in the beautiful surroundings of Shaftsbury Park, Carrickfergus, just off the Marine Highway, this brightly painted yellow bench has been introduced to provide a place for people to come together to have a chat.

To celebrate Men's Health Week (14th - 21st June) we are holding some free online 'Mood Matters' sessions for men!
 
The sessions are taking place over zoom on Weds 16th June.
They will explore issues related to men's mental health including how to manage feelings of stress and anxiety 🧠

New Funding This Week 🆕

 

Funding for Small Charities to Improve Lives of Disadvantaged People

Global’s Make Some Noise is inviting small registered charities that are delivering a key project or service addressing one of the following four key areas; Providing safety and shelter, Supporting physical and/or mental health, Developing life skills or Reducing isolation or improving inclusion - to apply for a grant of between £20,000 and £30,000:

Garfield Weston Foundation Accepting Applications Again

After closing its capital funding streams last year to focus on revenue grants during the Covid-19 crisis, Garfield Weston Foundation is now open to applications across all its grants programmes: capital, core costs and projects. Their grants support a wide range of projects in the areas of welfare, youth, community, arts, faith, environment, education, health, and museums and heritage.

Nationwide Building Society Community Grants Opens for 2021 Applications

Nationwide Building Society is offering grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 for projects of either one year or two years. Funding is available for smaller charities and other charitable organisations for projects that tackle a housing problem in local communities.

Ecclesiastical Launches £1m Movement for Good Awards 2021

For a third successive year, Ecclesiastical Insurance is inviting nominations to its £1 million Movement for Good Awards. 500 charities will be awarded with £1,000 each. Nominations will be accepted from 24 May to 13 June 2021. The more nominations a charity receives, the greater their chance of winning. Winners are selected by a draw.

Matthew Good Foundation: Grants for Good

The Matthew Good Foundation’s Grants for Good supports local community groups, charities, voluntary groups or social enterprises from across the UK with an annual income under £50,000 that have a positive impact on communities, people or the environment.

King George VI Youth Awards - closing 3 June 2021

The King George VI Youth Awards funds youth work projects in Northern Ireland for young people aged 14 to 21 up to £500 for travel, sport and equipment. Applications are welcome from both groups and individuals. Youth clubs, voluntary youth organisations and groups can also apply.
 

The BFI Doc Society Ripple Effect Fund - closing 10 June at 1pm

A new National Lottery funded initiative that enables and empowers communities, networks and organisations to build their own inclusive vision for the independent UK documentary sector from the ground up. It is open for one round and applicants can apply for a non-recoupable grant of between £5,000-£20,000.

DAERA: Rural Halls refurbishment Scheme - closing 11 June at 3pm

A pilot scheme providing a grant to rural community and voluntary organisations to deliver capital refurbishment works to rural halls, with the intended aim of keeping community facilities viable and to support existing rural organisations to remain sustainable and identify new volunteers.

The Care-full Closures Fund - closing 14 June 2021

This new pilot fund will deliver ground-breaking support and a grant of up to £4,000 to 4 organisations to support them to consider and design an organisational closure or merger.
