eJournal spotlight: Science

Today, Science continues to publish the very best in research across the sciences, with articles that consistently rank among the most cited in the world. Unlimited access to Science is available through Delta College Library. Find the link to Science on our A-Z list of databases.

Should I buy that 75" LED Plasma 4K Ultra TV?

OK, that is a totally made up title and might not be an actual thing. But you absolutely CAN check actual product reviews in Consumer Reports! Consumer Reports presents articles on health, public safety, marketplace economics and the judicial & regulatory actions that affect consumers, and product reviews. Find the link to Consumer Reports and all library databases on the Library A-Z list of databases.

Survey Says: 51% of students are brand new to college and libraries

This is the response from students who took our ENG 111/111A online library research course this semester (see full question below). Only 10% of students said they were familiar with using the library. We know that many incoming students have not had access to a K-12 library or librarian (more on that in upcoming newsletters). Whether it be through college or through the community, libraries are one of the great civic institutions of a democracy and strive to provide the opportunity for lifelong learning. Libraries are way more than books; most now offer streaming movies, music, digital magazines, genealogy resources, games, maker spaces, parent resources and more. If you have the opportunity to promote the use of the Delta library or a community library with your students, please do! Need help creating a library assignment? Contact us!
