Dear Friends, Colleagues and Partners,

As usual you will find in this edition more interesting news from India. DRM as a complete and efficient digital radio solution is also a theme continuing to emerge in both Asia and Europe.

And DRM has featured these last few weeks in important events in Turkey, Myanmar and US and created its own buzz with transmissions in Brazil. Do not miss the reports on all this below.

While work is continuing on receivers, we are also starting to prepare for future events in Australia, Europe and Africa. If you have looked at the new DRM schedules up on the  site, we would appreciate if you helped us add or correct the information we have by using a new information box added to the newsletter (on the right).

We are also pleased to introduce you to one of our key members: RFmondial, a company whose profile you will find below. Make sure your company features in the next Noticebaord! can tell you how.

Radio Asia 2015 – DRM in a strong position as “no shoe fits all” principle generally acknowledged

Delegates attending Radio Asia 2015 recognised that, in many cases, it will not be a case of choosing only one standard to digitise radio broadcasting in their country. They might have to use more than one system complementing each other in order to deliver country-wide radio digitisation.  The availability of multi-standard chipsets puts DRM in a good position. Recently returned from ABU’s Radio Asia held in Myanmar, Peter Streader from Ampegon AG reports. Read more

High Technology – High Accuracy: RFmondial presents its RF-SE19

DRM member RFmondial from Hanover (Germany) recently announced a new DRM monitoring receiver model within its RF-SE series.

The RF-SE series is known for its high performance frontend with preselector filter banks and a digital direct-down conversion system approach. To suit the specific needs of the desired application, the well-proven digital base-band decoder and various modular blocks are available: for example, RSCI capability, audio and multimedia decoder, alarm feature, web-interface as well as RFmonitor connector.

RFmondial is pleased to announce a new innovative model, based on the highly successful RF-SE12. The new RF-SE19 has a smaller form factor, using proven high-quality receiver technology.  The compact form factor of only 1 RU makes it ideal for mobile field trials and saving rack space.

“Even though the RF-SE19 is much smaller, it still has the same comprehensive user interface as the RF-SE12 model”, - Jens Schroeder, Managing Director.

Albert Waal, Head of Hardware Development, introduced the new model at Broadcast Asia 2015, where many of the broadcast professionals were very excited about the new compact design. The next opportunity to view it is at IBC in September: “See for yourself and get to know the RF-SE19!” The RFmondial team will be pleased to show it you.
