Let's Talk About Loneliness: a Conversation With Julia Bainbridge, Host of The Lonely Hour

Let’s talk about loneliness… Yes, that’s right. This is an extremely important subject for me, firstly because I suffer from it quite a lot at times myself, and also because psychologists claim that loneliness will be our next big public health issue. Loneliness is increasing, with more and more people experiencing it in some form or other in their lives today. We have seen in recent years some dramatic changes in technology, the way we work and in our communities, changes that have transformed our ultra-social species into a population of loners.

What to Pack to Survive in the Wild for Several Days

The wilderness isn’t just beautiful – it is also a merciless and dangerous place. It should be treated with respect, and good preparation is essential if you are to not just survive, but to enjoy the experience. Nature doesn’t care who you are or where you come from and being prepared with the right equipment is fundamental for your own safety and survival. I’m not stressing this to scare you off, far from it. In fact, I would encourage anyone to go out and explore.

Learn from Older People - They are Your Future Version

You can avoid mistakes, spot and act on opportunities in your life simply by tuning into the older generations that are all around us. You can do this by either engaging with them, or simply by observing them. Not all of them are wise old men with grey beards (Sorry ladies, it’s just a metaphor!) An International Incident of Love

Camille and I met through mutual friends that brought us together in a gathering that sought out love and the miraculous each day. With hands laid, the lame walked, cataracts where healed, spines realigned, legs grew, and what sprung about was a faith that believe we could raise the dead and literally move mountains. Each day we grew further in love, empowering ourselves to share that love. Each day we traveled, choosing to step outside our door. We we’re ordinary people seeking out and expecting extraordinary experiences.

The Five – Minute Journal is a beautiful book that will help you to feel grateful for what you have and as a result will increase your happiness. Every morning you write down 3 things you are grateful for, 3 things which will make that day great and 1 affirmation about yourself. Then before you go to sleep, you write 3 amazing things that happened in the day and 1 thing that could have made the day even better. It’s simple and takes no more than 5 minutes. It will help you stand still every day and take the time to reflect and inhale gratitude for your life. It has had a tremendous effect on my life already and I very much encourage anyone to buy it.

Never heard of Kickstarter and Indiegogo? Don’t worry, let me explain. Both are crowdfunding platforms, where you can submit a project or a product you are working on and need help with funding. People who are interested can then help you out by contributing and investing in your product or project. If you have a good idea for a product or project but need a hand money wise, you no longer have an excuse – give Kickstarter or Indiegogo a shot, and you might be able to raise the money you need.

Quote of The Month

“You can have many great ideas in your head, but what makes the difference is the action. Without action upon an idea, there will be no manifestation, no results, and no reward” ― Miguel Ruiz
