Don't panic panic a little, exams are almost here! 😱📝

📚 SWOTVAC Study Halls

We're running two dedicated rooms for the entirety of SWOTVAC (May 30th - June 3rd) up near the N1 carpark. The Centaurus community portfolio will be providing a trail mix and hot drinks bar for members every day to keep you fueled and focused, whilst the Ursa community portfolio will be hosting Crafternoon on Tuesday May 31st for some productive procrastination. The Orion community portfolio will be aiding your brain in some low-energy downtime for a cartoon binge-watch on Wednesday afternoon. These events are open to ALL college members.

Even the most seasoned veterans amongst you know that this can be a difficult time of year for all of us. Whether it's exams and studying that's getting you down, or personal issues like the loss of a loved one, an identity crisis, or ongoing brain chemistry fluctuations, please know that there is support available to you-- no problem too big or too small.
Monash University Health offers free counselling services to students and staff from 9am-5pm on weekdays in the Campus Centre. You can drop in, or call ahead to make an appointment on 9905 3020. For after-hours and specific contacts (such as grief counselling, anxiety and depression help, or sexual assault resources) you can find some helpful contacts on this page. And, for those of you who would rather avoid phone contact at all costs, a free online counselling service is available. However, in a crisis situation or emergency, calling 000 is always the best option.
👍 It's that time of year again! We're looking for feedback on your semester 1 experience with the non-residential college program. Your responses will help us improve the colleges for semester 2 and beyond. Feedback is anonymous, but you have the option to enter your student ID to go into the draw for a prize to say thank you. 💫

Monash is a partner in Universities Australia’s national Respect. Now. Always. campaign and is committed to eliminating sexual assault and harassment.

We urge every one of you to watch the video by enrolling in the Moodle unit.

In our continuing series of study tips and advice from our awesome college heads, we have some useful exam advice from Dr Lynette Pretorius, Deputy Head of Centaurus College:

Multiple choice questions are designed to use too much time if you don't know the answer. They are also usually worth fewer marks than the rest of the exam. As such I always advise students to do the multiple choice section last. Also, it is a good idea to read the questions in detail during the reading time, taking special note of words such as "never" or "always", as well as question wording (e.g. "choose the BEST answer" or "choose the one that does NOT describe").
