Gooood Morning!

Monday Funday! Are you ready for another week?

Here's hoping I can help you start your week off right and find joy in the work we do as learning designers. It's been a tough year, but does anybody else feel like things are getting better and life is trending more toward normal? Let me know if you're feeling better these days.

In this week's video, I'm sharing one of my favorite words. It's a word that pretty much nobody else uses, but it helps me design for the modern brain.  See, I think we are hard-wired to crave information. We have a primal need for knowledge and I think instructional design is a way to help feed the brains of the organization we work for.

This word is the first step down that path. Won't you join me with a fresh way of looking at learning design?
I'm going all in on this absurd idea that Mondays can be OK. (Attitude is everything.) I found someone on Fiverr to make a logo so that I can get myself some merch.

I'm planning on making myself a t-shirt and mug. Drop me a line if you'd like one, too.

Resources for learning xAPI
Have you ever wanted to learn "the new SCORM"?

It's a great tool for helping connect the modern learner with a multitude of options available beyond the LMS.

This week I learned that Devlin Peck not only has a number of articles about xAPI... He even built an app with challenges to help you learn basic skills.  See if you can make it up on his leaderboard by completing common tasks.

Resiliency Advice
I'm still working with a local hospital doing resiliency training. It's meaningful work and I get to learn about all kinds of interesting resources that are available to help anyone who's struggling with burnout or stress.

Last week, I shared a link to an app called DRIVEN. It's a really neat use of chatbots, gamification and microlearning videos. The free version is a great way for you to explore this modern platform and start looking

This week, I'm sharing a podcast that addresses a common topic, burnout. For the first week in months, I'm starting out with a tank full of energy, but if you feel like you're driving on fumes, maybe this will help.
