Praising the Lord!

If the Lord had not led us to step out in faith to purchase the property, and if the missionary selling the property had not sold it to us at a greatly discounted price (by over 1/2 the value of the property) and had not let us pay without interest we would not have been able to purchase the property.   If our ministry partners had not given sacrificially for this project, we would be paying on the property for many years.

Thank you for your love and kindness through the years, many of you having partnered with us since the very beginning of our calling to serve in Peru.  Thank you for upholding us in prayer and giving faithfully and given to help with this specific project to purchase the dormitory and house.  By the providence of our Lord the property is paid off in full.  Thank you!  We are amazed to see how the Lord provided in just 8 months!

The Church Plant:

The church plant is going well.  The services are well attended, and we will need to buy more chairs soon.   In December 200 kids for the neighborhood came to the church's Christmas program and heard the gospel along with at least one of their parents.

In
January we started the teaching schedule with the goal of grounding the church doctrinally and getting the church registered and put in order to be fully established.  We also started a Sunday School class for the younger children.  Lillie is leading the class as well as the ladies' ministry that meets every Saturday to study God's Word and pray together.  We also had 2 new members join the church.

At the end of
February, we will baptize 7 believers who want to follow the Lord in believers' baptism and afterward, they will be added to the church.  On Sunday the 12th of this month we will add another member after she shares her testimony in the night service.

We also have some disappointments along the way. Some who would have been baptized have shown a lifestyle of disobedience in other areas, and we will not baptize them as they have been counselled by God's Word in how to live and they continue to live in sin.

Please continue to pray for the church plant and for opportunities to see more people come to a saving faith in the Lord.   Pray that we are able to establish a strong and sound biblical foundation for the church.

Our motorcycle does not have enough clearance for many of the roads in the jungle.  This happened when we were on a counseling call in a poor area of the city last Thursday.  Thankfully it happened near the mechanic's shop, and we were able to get it welded the next day.

Praying for the Work!

Please keep upholding us in prayer.  We face many types of opposition from sin within the church and opposition from outside the ministry.  Pray that we would have wisdom in addressing the needs in the church, and that we would not grow weary.  Thank you for loving us and praying for us.  It is the Lord who builds his church, and the gates of hell cannot prevent God's work.

Please pray for Peru.  There have been many protests and deaths since December of 2022.  The part of the county where we are has been calm, but there continues to be riots and road closures in the southern parts of Peru.
