Club membership update

A reminder that the Club decided to change the timing of renewals for Club membership. Subscriptions for 2021 will run to 31st March 2022.  Renewals will be due on 1st April 2022 and will run to 31st March 2023.

This will be reflected on your new membership card.  New membership cards will be available at ride starts and meetings unless you request that it is posted to you.

Those members who join between Jan 1st and March 31st are only charged £10. A few new members did not realise this and will get a 50% discount on next year’s subscription rate. Since our Bank makes a charge for depositing cheques and cash the club would very much appreciate it if you could pay by Bank Transfer.

New website

Our new website is up and running at www.truro.cc Special thanks to Melinda and Jamie for all their hard work on this.  Melinda rickettmelinda@gmail.com would love some more items for the Journal pages.  If you’ve recently joined the club, how have you found it?  Or what about ‘the joys of gravel’?  Or a photo essay of your favourite local ride?

Ride London – Essex 100

Bosence Drug & Alcohol Treatment is are a registered charity providing residential treatment to individuals struggling with addiction, based near Hayle, Cornwall.  They were recently successful in obtaining several charity places for the ‘Ride London-Essex 100’ which takes place on Sunday the 29th of May. The 100-mile challenge starts on Victoria Embankment, before travelling through some of Essex’s most beautiful countryside and villages, before eventually finishing at Tower Bridge.

They are asking participants to commit to raising a minimum amount of £500, which includes entry to the event and will also be providing support with fundraising.

The funds raised from the event will be used towards the purchase of an outdoor ‘green gym’ that our residents can make use of to support them in their recovery.

If you're interested, pelase contact Tom Packer, Business Development Manager at Bosence Drug & Alcohol Treatment on 07798657344 or email tom.packer@bosencefarm.com.

Support wanted for charity ride

Darren Roland has been in touch to say that he and 5 others will be cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats in April for a fantastic charity the bike network helping people affected by cancer.  Would you like to join them?
They already got a few pros joining them on selected days, and want as many people to cycle with them throughout the journey, to really spread the word about the charity. The first leg, Land’s End to Okehampton, is on 19th April.
