Sherlock Holmes and the Sapphire Night
April 8th at 8pm
April 9th at 2pm

Sherlock Holmes and the Sapphire Night is a hybrid work of traditional theater and contemporary circus. In this original story, featuring a predominantly female cast--including the residents of 221B--Sherlock and Watson unravel the mystery of six, missing, young women and their connection with an enigmatic, star-gazing cult.
Sherlock Holmes and the Sapphire Night explores themes of feminism and femininity, outsiders, and the responsibility of power through the physicality of circus performance and features Spanish web, Chinese pole, aerial silks, lyra, contortion, hand balancing, diabolo, acrobatics, and more.
Sherlock Holmes and the Sapphire Night debuted in New Haven, Connecticut at the Educational Center for the Arts on February 10th and 11th, 2017 with three sold out shows.

Spring Break has arrived & what better way then to spend some action packed circus time with the kids?
Our circus superstars of ABCirque have truly embraced their superhero powers and taken flight to help capture the robber on the loose. Each hero gets mighty close to capturing our sneaky robber, but he always seems to sneak away. Perhaps the superhero kids in our audience can help?!
After all, we hear teamwork is the only way!

50 lucky kids & parents will get to come an hour before the show and play while meeting one guest superhero. After play time, all guests will arrive for our superheroes' grand arrival & performance followed by meet-and-greet & pictures with our heroes!

Through the end of this weekend, use code "FUTrumpasaurus" for 10% off tickets to our adult show!

Perfect for a late-night liberal audience, our Superhero show just got a bit raunchier and more political - all for a good cause to help raise some funds to be donated to ACLU. One of our masked heroes strips down to reveal a gender surprise, two others are discovered to be in a deeply loving (and non-normative) relationship. As it turns out, all of our superheroes are just a little bit off -- not manly enough, straight enough, American enough.

SuperCirque SuperHeroes: After Dark explores what it means to be "othered" in our society. It celebrates difference in true circus style -- by dressing it up in spandex, handing it a microphone, and embracing whatever happens next.

Imagined, designed, and co-created by a team of NYC’s best acrobats, dancers, and rigging experts, SuperCirque SuperHeroes is an immersive adventure and an opportunity to explore the outer limits of possibility. This will be an exciting premiere that will delve well into our current political and social climate hopefully with a few laughs along the way.

CIRCUS FOR A CAUSE:
A portion of door proceeds from this performance will be donated to American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) so we can, united, continue to defend free speech and the right to protest, fight relentless attacks on reproductive freedom and push for reforms to our racially-biased criminal justice system.
Lets come together have a good laugh, see some ridiculously amazing performers and raise some funds for the the best cause!

TICKETS: Pre-Sale: $20 - Door Price: $25

Workshop with Xochitl Sosa

The Art of Duo - Trapeze
April 12th - 7-9pm
$60

Partnering is about finding movement and weight with another human being. This workshop will cover fundamental partnering on trapeze as well as covering solid technique for basing and lifting. This workshop will also go into improv and tools on how to find individual movement with a partner.

Pre-Requisites: Must be able to invert on an apparatus. No partner is required for this workshop.

Bungee Dance Workshop with Sarah Wollschlager
April 22nd - 3-4:30pm
$50 Pre- Registration
Open Level

Find new ways to invigorate your weekly workout or creatively inspire the poet within by dancing in a single point bungee.

We will explore the basics of how to interact with our bungee cord whilst jumping, sliding, running, leaping, and flipping. We will try our skills at finding stylized movements or ways of holding poses in a supported way from the bungee. We may try some basic partnering movements. We take the fun bungee dance vocabulary you learn in the beginning and apply it to a choreographed movement phrase set to music at the end of class.

Workshops with Chloe Walier
April 23rd
Bending Over Backwards: 12:15 - 1:45
Splits: Happy & Healthy Hips: 2 - 3:30
$50 Pre-Registration

Chloe can be described most appropriately as, “effervescent.” What she brings to the stage bubbles and pops, forcing you to smile with her. Chloe has trained at NECCA, the Celebration Barn Theater, LarVa Teatro, Katakomben, and Totem. She has performed at the Periplo International Circus Festival, as well as the Zelta Karlis Festival, where she won the Circus Artist Association Special Prize Award. Chloe regularly performs nationally and internationally and is currently in creation for her one woman variety show.
Bending Over Backward: Functional Mobility
This workshop is for those who aspire to feel the fluidity of a healthy and mobile spine! We will focus on effective ways to warm up your back, evaluate posture to alleviate pain, mobilize the spine, find shapes (for the artist in you!) and tools for you to push tight spots in your back.

 Splits: Happy and Healthy Hips
A workshop for everybody! Flexibility is an aspect of circus, yoga, dance, theater, acrobatics, posture, longevity and comfort. Maintaining flexibility can alleviate back pain, improve posture, gain new skills, bring a whole new level to your fitness and accessibility to new tricks! This workshop focuses on mobilizing the legs and hips for optimal performance and pain free splits! We will do a series of stretches and mobilizers in an environment where you can ask questions and leave with stretches you can work on on your own. This workshop will increase your active flexibility, lines and speed of warm up with a mixture of pre-hab (injury prevention), expanding range of motion and conditioning your happy hips!

Circus - Let your child explore at first hand the circus world in a fun playful setting. The kids will have an opportunity to touch on different aspects of the circus: walking on a balance beam, hanging from a trapeze, juggling, human pyramids, tumbling and more all through playing.

Adventure play - Self directed play while exploring different materials and experiencing control of their play area (unlike "normal" playgrounds where the play area is fixed). This setting is great in allowing room for creativity and imagination while interacting with other kids in similar ages under encouraging supportive adult supervision. The kids will have cardboard to cut and build out of, water, fabric, paint, and more.
