Fabric Panels Saral Transfer Paper Batiks
The ‘Best in Show’ botanicals from Liberty’s iconic print archive, inspired by British flower shows. Traditionally screen-printed onto soft Lasenby cotton, the collection includes quintessential 1930's florals, reimagined from Liberty’s print archive. Illustrating the rich heritage of floral design, the collection offers a tonal palette that graduates from neutrals to pinks with hints of citrus tones and greenery – perfect for spring.

All ten prints are available by the metre or as a Fat Quarter bundle.

The Flower Show prints mix well with the pastel shades from Liberty’s new Wiltshire Shadow tonal floral. Nik has designed this pretty Flower Show Parterre Quilt (above right) using the Flower Show prints and five Wiltshire Shadow pastels. The quilt is constructed of 3" finished squares and measures 60" x 78" approximately. Our kit contains all the fabrics for the quilt top and binding plus instructions and is priced £89.95.

Apologies to everyone who has tried to sign up to the Nine Patch Parade Sewalong since Christmas Eve. Unfortunately a glitch meant that the Starter Set pre-order was showing as out of stock. This has now been corrected and you can click here if you would like to join.

We have had a few question about these new rulers from Marti Michell so here are a couple of diagrams which should help to explain the benefits.

The size of the ruler indicates the size of the finished 9-patch block, not each square within the block. In the diagram below left, 8" floral patches are alternated with 9-patch blocks. But what width do you cut your strips to make a 9-patch that is 8" square when pieced?! It’s no problem with Marti’s 8" 9-patch ruler, simply cut strips to the width marked on the ruler and the finished block will be the correct size.

You can also create 9-patch within a 9-patch! In the diagram on the right tiny 9-patch blocks are made using the 2" 9-patch ruler. These are then pieced to patches cut with the 6" 9-patch ruler to create the 6" finished 9-patch blocks.
All you need to join the Nine Patch Parade Sewalong is the Starter Set which is priced £27.20 and includes the 3" and 4" 9-Patch rulers plus six of Marti Michell’s patterns (you will also need a stash of fabric!).
From late January we will be carrying a new range of Nine Patch rulers designed by Marti Michell. These innovative rulers improve on strip techniques as they guide you in cutting very accurate strip widths which means accurate blocks and more pleasing patchwork! They are available in 7 finish block sizes; 2", 3", 4", 4.5", 5", 6" and 8". You can find out more about them by watching Marti’s YouTube video.

To learn the benefits of these rulers and create some wonderful nine patch projects in the process we recommend you join the Nine Patch Parade, a six month sewalong event hosted by Gnome Angel and From Marti Michell (FMM). It’s simple to join via Instagram using the hashtag #FMM9PatchParade or join the GnomeAngel Facebook group. There is also the opportunity to win prizes, it might even be from the Cotton Patch as we are one of the sponsors for the sewalong!

This new Ribbon Candy quilting template from DM Quilting creates a pleasing curvy design that can be used as a border or as a quick and easy edge-to-edge design. There are four templates in the set for creating ribbons of 1", 2", 3" or 4" in height. Please note that you will need a gripping product such as Westalee Stable tape or Sariditty Glitter Grippers to use these templates to best effect. Although this is not a Westalee ruler it works perfectly well with the Westalee Ruler Foot and is available in Low and High shank.
