What Will Your Donation Fund?
2016 isn't just about the presidential race – we'll also have a heavy local ballot, and CivCity is already gearing up to help voters prep for the polls. Here's a quick look at some of the projects we plan to roll out in the coming months – your donations will help support this work!
Pre-Election Potlucks: We're developing a toolkit to help residents host gatherings at their homes aimed at researching and discussing local candidates and ballot issues. Special thanks to the Ann Arbor Awesome Foundation for helping fund this project!
Citizen Ann Arbor: Imagine encountering a towering puppet walking down the streets of Ann Arbor, ready to hand out information about ALL candidates. Wouldn't you want to stop and take a selfie with it? Of course you would.
Candidate Forums: We'll be looking for unique formats and venues where voters can get to know local candidates. If you've got ideas, let us know!
Online Voting Guide: We plan to build a comprehensive resource to learn about local candidates and ballot issues, including a roundup of news, survey responses, websites and other items to help residents make informed choices when they vote.
Party at the Polls: Voting should be a celebration – and CivCity aims to help. We hope to create mini-festivals at some of the major polling stations for the August primary, with food carts and entertainment throughout the day. Because DEMOCRACY!!
Other ideas? We'd love to hear them – and we're always eager to partner! Check out our website at civcity.org for other projects in the works.
